Anyone know why these are only available from Japan? You can order them online at a few places. One is here: http://www.audiocubes.com/

Because nobody in the U.S. except evil jose wants a mini disc player. Double din sales in the U.S. are very low.

Yeah, I don't care for MD either, but it still seems odd that sales are so low when lots of cars have double-din stock radios. Of the 3 cars I have, none has a single-DIN opening. Jeep is 1.5-DIN, Maxima is 2-DIN, and Mach 1 is 2-DIN.

the vast majority of cars used to have single din or 1.5 din openings, and for the longest time, any type of single din unit has had twice the amount of features as a double din unit, for less money,
.now, with so many companies putting double din units in their cars, double din video sales are going up, but until the radios have more features for the money, they'll still be a lost cause in the U.S

Isn't there a regular CD slot on the top of those. Not only mini-disk but both CD and MD..???

yes, there is, but it's a worthless feature in America, and would drive up cost.

Sony should be added to the "junk shit" list.
the eclipse AVN5435 would probably be my choice, but i'm biased.
