The 5x7 amps only produce bass. Replacing the 5x7's means you will only hear low bass from them if you keep the factory amps. The "tweeters" are really more like a midrange since they play much lower than a tweeter. Connecting a tweeter to the factory tweeter amp without the tweeter's passive crossover will cause the tweeter to fail. IMO, you need to install an aftermarket deck (and hopefully aftermarket amp) to replace the factory speakers.

So it's just a waste of time and money to replace these while keeping the Mach460..??? Whats a (real good mid-level better than average) option when replacing stock speakers for aftermarket. Also for a double DIN heat Unit or I guess the make an adapter for regular head units.

I read some reviews on aftermarket speakers thru Crutchfield. Guys were using the Mach460 and swapped speakers for aftermarket. What's up with that EW..?

Later...

I like the JL Audio and MB Quart components. They both offer many price ranges to choose from. Both also make 5x7 components. The JL XR series is the best of the two for 5x7 IMO.
There is a kit to put a din unit in the 2001+ mustang or there are many double din options available.

Thanks EW... I hear you... I won't make that mistake then... I'll start buying everything slowly to swap the Mach460 then.
