how many of you get these? people come up and ask the most retarded questions. Not ones like "hey, is that a Ninja?" when it clearly says Yamaha on the side, but other ones. For instance, the other day OneBadWagon and I stopped by vista ridge mall and as we were browsing a store, these 2 girls approached us and asked if we were like biker boys or something. I just walked away.

A few days later I was at my g/f's work when her co-worker came out because he saw me on my bike. He was all like "oh man thats sooo cool, is it fast?"

....no, its slow as shit....

but anyway, he proceeds to ask me if I ever ride in big groups of bikes, i told him yeah. he then asks me "do you call them wolfpacks?". I didnt know if he was serious or not. sure as shit he was dead serious, and I didnt know what to say. All i could do was turn away and say bye to my g/f before i rode off.

so how many of you get these stupid ass questions?

I get tired of the "is it fast" question... I mean honestly. No, idiot... it's slow and I got it so I could get cut off and then looked at like I did something wrong. It has to be fast so that you can quickly get out of the way of all the idiots driving home from work in a daze.

ive only hada bike for 4 days now yet ive already heard some of the supidest questions of my life.

for instance when i came in to work today a guy who i know from over in another area of the warehouse comes over and goes "so did you kill yourself or what?" i was like WTF??? im standing here arnt i.

and i heard my favorite one on my way out the door on the way home. "so when you bring it too work can i drive it?" FUCK NO!!!!! this guy asked me erlier in the day what kinda bike it was, and thinking he wouldnt know what a GSXR was i told him it was a gixxer. he had no fucking clue what i was talking about, i thought everyone know a gixxer was a sportbike i mean everything fast is a gixxer right?

Exactly what I was thinking!

I love when people ask to "drive" it. When they find the steering wheel and pedals, I'll let them drive it home and keep it!

Also when I laid it down and was bandaged up people would ask if I wrecked my bike. Nope, just deicided to try on parts of my mummy costume to make sure it fit before Holloween got here.

I thought everyone knew what a gixxer was too, Whenever people ask what kind of bike i have i just say its a gixxer 600, even some car guys dont know what the hell it is.

I don't mind the ignorant questions, cause how would they know...honestly. It is like another language when you think about it. Jixer, Fizzer, Wheazer, R6, 6R, RR, 6RR, R1, Stoppie, healie, high side, low side, pitch it, blip shift, pin it, hang it out, WFO, Texas Tuck, etc. Hell, I know guys that ride that have to ask sometimes.

The Stupid questions on the other hand...that can get anoying. I think bikes just exite people cause they either want one, fear them or are in awe of anyone crazy enought to throw a leg over! They don't know what to ask, they just want to ask something. Don't be too hard on them, they seem to be taking an interest in our hobbie/sport/obsession by even breaching the subject with you.

i agree with that 100% i just cant stand when people ask if they can ride it. and also i only understood these out of all the stuff you listed
Jixer, R6, 6R, RR, 6RR, R1, Stoppie lol

i just assumed everyone knew what a gixxer was cause i hear people talk about it all the time

LOL...that's funny! I'll explain it for you: Fizzer is a Yamaha FZR, Wheazer is a YSR, healie is the same as a stopie, high side is when you get pitched off, low side is when you tuck the front and crash, pitch it in is throwing it down into a turn hard and fast, blip shift is shifting with out the clutch or the quick motion of the throttle to match RPMs when you are dropping gears quick, pin it is giving it throttle all the way to the stop, hang it out is when you lock up the rear by draging the rear brake or down shifting rough before pitching it in, WFO (wide fucking open...you should be ashamed on this one!), Texas Tuck is putting the license plate under the seat.

Here is one that need clarifying. Some one used the term "Squid" to describe a couple of cautius riders that got in the way on another thread...those two were just new. A squid is someone who thinks they are bad ass but rides like shit and really has no idea what they hell they are doing. They ride in a dangerous and unpredictable manor.

I know what you mean about asking to ride...I usually give them the "are you a fucking moron" look and return the favor with "sure...can I borrow your wife/gf?"

Jonny.. thanks for clearing up a few for me. some new terms for me to digest.

i still like the ole' "what size is that?"... I try and just point to tail section that has the 750 on it.

Is it fast?that is a great one also... i usually tell them.. scares me just fine.

and... how fast have you gone on it? i say...speedlimit. (although Evil Jose might know that not true do the Dublin trip since we were cruising in the back of the "wolfpack") what the hell is a wolfpack other than german u-boats?

It's all good!

I like the "How much that cost?" - Huh?
"How fast it go?"
"What kind is that?" with Suzuki all over the damn thing.
Ah well...what can you do, but make fun of them...they leave us no choice! I still try to educate them a little though...but nothing's free!

i do not think it is so much "stupid questions" as it is people just trying to start up a conversation. damn, you act like it costs money to make simple smalltalk. sometimes you guys forget we are a small fraternity. some factions of society love us. others hate us. it is our job to try and make more people like us. then we are not harassed by the cops and looked down upon by cagers and harley riders. until we lose that negative mental image, we will be fucked with. lets think of ourselves as ambassadors of the sportbike...

I am not required to be nice to the ignorant people of the world or do I give a shit what people think of me. Fuck the police who harass and the other "riders" who hate on us for having a sportbike. Now, I'm not one to ride like an idiot and give myself a negative image but what can one person do when people already have their minds made up about us? Nothing. Anywhere you go you will have people that judge you. When you're on the road on a bike, it's every man for himself. Guys and gals, just be safe and do your part to protect yourself and others around you.

the most annoying to me has always been "can i ride it, i promise i wont wreck it"
what kinda idiot purposely wrecks it...no one plans to, it just happens. that annoys me 10x more than the simple "can i ride it"

Dude...come on...tell us how you really feel! I'm picking up on some repressed anger and abandonment issues...tell me about your child hood... :D

No offense, man, and since it's "...every man for himself..." you probably don't care anyhow, but I don't think you have the right temperment to be a "Crotch-Rocket Ambasidor" anyway. I totaly agree with the part about not caring what negative people think though! You can't please all the poeple all the time, so just please yourself...but never in public! :D Don't sweat it man, in spite of your apparent lack of comrodery, I'd still stop and help you out, if you were stranded on the side of the road somewhere. ;)

youre absoloutely right. people dont know stuff like the CCs of a bike or what stuff on it is for. but when some kid asks me if i ride in groups and if we call it a wolfpack, i just cant help but make fun of him. i mean seriously, how much more Fast and the Furious can you get?

Thanks Dr. Phil. ;) And you took my "every man for himself" comment the wrong way. I'm down with anyone who rides no matter what it is. Period. I can't. though, hold someones hand while trying to ride to make sure they don't act like an idiot. I can tell, advise, ask otherss to ride a certain way, but I can only control my own actions. Hope that clears it up.
