I have a friend that got a 03 gsxr 600 and it is too tall for them so they got the lowering links and had it lowered I think as far as it would go and they have to use their tippy toes to barely touch the ground. Do you guys know of any way to lower it more without extensive work done to the bike or anything. Maybe a thinner seat or something along those lines just to get a little more of their foot on the ground. They cant even ride the bike right now because of the height problem? Or would you guys just recommend to sell it and get a shorter bike. And which bike would you recommend. I looked at the Yamaha 600R's and they are fairly short and could be lowered as well. When they took their MSC they rode a rebel which has a seat height of 26.6 inches and they said that was perfect. So I was thinking if it was possible to get their bike down to like 27 or so would work. Sorry for this long ass post guys.

I've there's already a dogbone on it and the forks are up a good bit the through the clamp, yeah i'd start thinking about thining the seat. Must be a small person. I suppose you could modify the dogbone to go lower, how high is the bodywork from the ground now?

Sounds like the Rebel would be a good bike.

if it's on the 3" kit wich is very low and you have it dropped through the triple clamp about 2".....yeah, your gonna have to sell it if that's not enough.
Make sure if you drop it through the triple clamps that you check the height with calipers, if the forks are at different levels in the slightest it will create alot of head shake.

I know some girls that are 5'2 riding lowered gixxers very comfortably, so if ur friend is shorter than that, he probably needs to stick with a high chair in a car...

Well it is a chick and i think she is 5'2" or somewhere around there. 27inch inseam on her pants so she is not the longest legged woman. I talked to her again last night and who she took the bike to, to get it lowered told her they could only lower it 1 1/2 inches and if they went any further they would have to do some type of wedling and shit to the bottom. Have you guys ever heard of this? I think whoever she took it was just trying screw with her. she spent like $150 on the link bars and then $130 to get it lowered. I have seen link bars alot cheaper than that so I dunno. Any imput would be helpful. If they can really lower the bike a total of 3 inches safely where it will not scrape the ground in turns then that might be about what she needs. Do you have to drop it through the triple clamp? and if so would that drop also help or is that just to level out the bike? Where do you guys recommend taking the bike to have it lowered the right way. She is in north plano almost mckinney so anywhere close to there would be great.

Yeah she got screwed!
the links are about 80-100 and lowering it should have been free! tell her to get a set of links and hit me up on a pm and I will finish it off for free. I can lower it through the the triples just like mine and it will be perfect for her, were about the same height. Bikers are supposed to help eachother out, sorry she got screwed.
BTW: What links did she buy?
and please post who she took it too so we all are warned about getting screwed, thanks.

She got 70/75 from diamonds link bars. And Metric Tech charged her 60/hr to install them.

And they didnt do anything with the kickstand so it sits not very securely and can easily fall over with just a good wind gust. What needs to be done with that?

You have two options there, you can cut the stock one with a dremel for free (like me) or you can buy an aftermarket adjustable billet from Schnitz racing for about $175.
