You'll probably need new fiber plates.

they were about 6 bucks each for my r6, and it took 7 or so i believe. I had never done the job either and it was easy. Just un bolt the cover, unbolt the boss, it slides off, oil the new fibers, put the new ones in like you take the old ones out, then reassemble.

any mecahanic at a dealer should be able to konck it out well under an hour, and most dealer service dept's get about 70 an hour.

Wear out fast? clutching up wheelies. pampered fibers, especially on a honda, can last 50k, 60k, + miles. I knew a guy on a rr w/ that kinda mileage, origional clutch, he used the bike to commute, it never got wheelied.

Its possible that the clutch may have also been misadjusted for a sloppy, less than full engagment to the pressure plate in the boss. I've seen this be the case where someone bikes a bike thats been wrecked previously and the clutch lever/related stuff had to be replaced and the new parts were not fit properly giving the clutch good pressure against the plates.

I guess somone didnt take care of the bike.. Its only got 11k on it and I just noticed this the other night riding it.. Im very pickey about my stuff so it has to be fixed..... do u think I should buy the whole set up or just the fiber plats?

you might want to pull the parts 1st and inspect for warpage in the metals, chances are their fine. I'd start buy just gettin the fibers if its an 11k bike. if youcan't see any impoerfections in the metals, just clean them real good, then reoil along w/ the new fibers. its not 'that' much trouble if you've gotta go back in to put in new metals, course you may want to do them while your at if the price is right. Chances are thouhg, its the fibers (which obviously have greater propensity to wear) that need swapping.

Go see Kevin at Top Gun Motorsports. He set up shop in the Stuntlfe.com shop out in Haslet (near GMH). He'll do the job right, for a very reasonable price, and get you a good deal on the parts.

Go to www.dfwsportbike.com and look for his banner at the top of the page.
Tell him Big Jason sent you and he'll treat ya right.
