Gay Wave?

Why is it everytime I pass another rider on the road they feel the need to do that uhder handed wave. It's seems gay and I don't want to take my hands off the wheel just to wave back.

People do similar things in the country they do a one finger wave on top of there steering wheel. It's wise to wave back because if you break down you might not see another person for a while

When I first got my bike and was riding everyone waived at me i was like wtf do i know him? Then i figured out that bikers just waive to each other. So I waive back. If I see you on the road and you don't waive I'm going to turn around and put you in the grass like Rossi did sete. :eek:

as has been said already, the fraternity of two wheels is something we share. be it sportbike, cruiser, whatever. the "gay wave" you refer to is one bikers way of showing respect to another. do you complain when you meet someone new and are obliged to do the "gay handshake" ? i think not. not all people have bikes and not all people are meant to know the exhilaration that riding a motorcycle brings. so one rider showing respect to another is actually a breath of fresh air. be wary of the guy that doesn't wave back. he has a bike for the wrong reasons...

I "wave" at other riders whenever I see them except on the highway. It was the same when I was up at Lake Texahoma with one of my ex's and her parents, her dad waved at someone who waved at them and I asked if they knew them. He said "nope, just being nice, that's how it is up here". It's just a friendly thing to do, don't be a dick.

No................we wave at everybody. The cruisers sometimes don't get waved back by sportsriders, but that could be cause they are still learning. I get waved back by 99% of the people.

hell, out here in west TX, a lot of these farmer types wave whenever they pass another car. doesn't bother me a bit, I think it's nice how friendly most people are out here

I'd take a head nod! That's what I do when I don't have a free hand or I catch them waving at the last minute.

I love it when the Harley guys waive with the one finger! I'd be bitter too, if my shit turned like a semi truck, cost twice as much and went half as fast! I wave anyhow...different strokes!
