Aggie97, myself, and a few others went to this even last year and had a pretty good time. However, we had to share the track w/ some F-bodies. :rolleyes: If we can get 8 to 10 cars together we can take our laps w/ just DFWStang members. (F-bodies are welcome. ;))

I THINK I got up to 110 once. However, that was quickly curbed by one of the TMS trucks getting in front of me after I let off. I think on the average we were doing 85 maybe. TMS intentionally adds 4 or 5 F250's to the field and tries to keep the speeds down. Even though you sign your liability away they don't want an "incident". However, at 85 in T2 you can feel the suspension compress. Very cool feeling. Also, if you have friends w/ camera's you get some great shots....:D

Last year we went late in the afternoon to accomodate a cruise or something. I believe they start around 10 and go on till dark, or 6/7... As the day get's closer I'll try and get some more details. Trust me, it's a lot more speed than you think it is. See'n those guys hit 190 - 195 and knowing how it feels at 85 is mind boggling and really builds your respect for the drivers in general. I can't imagine what the IRL guys must be feeling.

It's a great time and it's only 25.00 smacks for 3 laps, well worth it IMO. I have taken the Cobra and Lightning, the Cobra was doing 135 on turns 3 to 4 spraying N2O the whole time, LOL! You can also have passangers with you and take pictures in the winners circle for $10.00, it's a poloroid pic you get to keep with the TMS LOGOS on it, a very cool time...'H'

As many passengers as you have seatbelts for, at no extra charge. At least that is how it was last year. I would be interested in going if there are no retards driving at the same time as me. I had these idoits thinking they were racing and passing everybody and they almost hit me then my brother. But other than that it was awesome.

Honestly it was pretty busy. The wait wasn't too bad. However, this is a very well known event and car clubs from all over attend. Heck last year I was behind a freak'n monster truck. No kidd'n. I think Aggie97 even got some video of the beast.

The event is neat if u are going for the first time.. I used to go twice a year for 6 yrs and then I got "bored" of it.. some years they seem to restrict you more than others.. i can usually get away with 100-110 at most and then the pace drivers get pissed.. Its definitely a great experience.. taking that first turn feels weird if you have never done it... if u guys have never done it, its worth a shot.. just dont expect to top out your car or anything.. Dont be surprised if you cant even get to 100 lol

So here's the latest. After talking with Sarah she explained how this was going to "work". We're to meet at a particular location, get our "group" together recruit other cars if needed and then get in line to sign the waiver. This is the only "line" we'll be in and we MUST get 12 to 16 cars to get in. Plus she'll call me and yell cause I promised her at least 12. As long as we all sign the waivers as a group we'll then be allowed to bypass the "stragglers" line and will be issues a designated "staging area" by group #/letter. She said something like Group E or F and that we'll be trying to hit the 5:30 time frame. It will be important that the lead and last car are in touch w/ each other so the lead will know when to go once the last car has signed the waiver. I'll take the lead someone w/ a phone take the tail. Once we get inside I'll be happy to be at the end cause I want to catch ya'll on tape. We can switch around in the "staging area".

So here are the facts/plans.

Darren's my name and my cell is 817-944-2464 I'll be smooth talk'n our way past the waiver signers and money takers.

I drive a Blue 2000 GT lowered and wingless. (Pictured on the first page of this thread.)

The PRE MEET UP time is going to be 4:30pm at the SONIC mapped above. We leave at 4:45 sharp. Cops will be out enforce so keep the speeds to a cool and calm pace.

The AT TRACK MEET UP TIME is going to be 5:15 pm sharp. If you're not there by then your place will be given to a recruit.
The AT TRACK MEET UP LOCATION is going to be on the South side of the track in what the track workers call the "Crystal Lot". Pictured here in yellow with red /// stripes at the Southern side of the track at the corner of Victory Circle and Allison Ave once on the track grounds.

Once we've got most of our people together we'll do a car count and if we're lacking a few well then we'll all need to go out and get a few recruits from the others waiting in line.

Things to bring.
Passenger with a CAMERA!!! Remember to have them take pics of your buddies so you're buddies will feel obligated to take pics of you!!!

DRIVER'S SHOULD NOT BE TAKING PICTURES!!! (I've got a video camera mount so if anyone has a digital video camera but no passenger I'd be happy to "borrow it" :D) Otherwise it's going on film and noone but me will see it.

$25 per session, 3 laps per session. I MIGHT make 2 sessions if I can get someone to snap some pics at night.
Also, last year there were pictures available in "Victory Circle" for $10 I think. They MIGHT be doing that again.

Passengers taking pictures of OTHER cars are the best shots IMNSHO. Many people won't be able to get close enough to the track to get a good shot unless they have some killer photographic gear. Buddy up, bring a passenger and take lots of pics. I know I will. :D

Pace car ran about 80. Some of us would pull back then gun it to catch up. I got up to 90-95. Others said they got up to 105. No passing allowed.

Sounds like you had some fun. Not bad for 25 bux. You figure they charge 100 for 10 laps with them in the car and you get to do it for 25 without anyone except trucks and a pace car.
