Me and my buddy in his 600RR rode a little over 300 miles in the past 24 hours. I know it doesn't sound like a whole lot but they where some hard miles :) Rode out to Henderson, TX last night around 8:30pm and arrived there around 11pm with 3 stops (1 for fuel, 1 one rest stop, and 1 dinner stop at a Whataburger in Kilgore).
Man I love road trips! The ride at night down I-20 was uneventfull and we where rolling anywhere from 80 to 100 mph most of the way. Hooked up with a few vehicles running defense for us and only ran across one police vehicle the whole night. The ride back we where doing on average between 90 and 100 mph (no cops).
Some great roads out there and I had a great time hanging with my cousin's. Stayed up until 4:30 am drinking and woke up at 9 am to some home made munedo (sp?) to wake me up ;)
Overall a great a little road trip. I love rolling through small towns. The looks, stares, and honking from the women in those small towns kicks ass!
Now I'm relaxing with a late lunch and watching the Mav's game :)

It wasn't that bad heading up there Saturday night (although my buddy complained about it a little). Sunday was worse especially once we got into Terrell. Riding in the wind really wears me out both mentally and physically. Ran across quite a few riders on Sunday but only like 3 sport bike riders.

LMAO! Ya, I thought the title would catch a few people's attention.

Yup, that's the one. Pretty cool Whataburger. Some high school dance must have let out to because there were a bunch of kids dressed up in there. You live out that way?

Good to hear that you guys made it back safely and in one piece. 100mph huh? That's the first time you've been over 80mph huh? ;) :p

A ride out to Henderson with no track time at Oak Hill just sounds like all foreplay and no satisfaction!
No wonder your ass hurts...that ain't no cruiser bike you're treking across the state on! My bike only makes that trip in the back of a truck or on a trailer.
That's cool though...sounds like you've got the bug prety bad! It's that time of year!

I try and keep it under 150 MPH JC :D You would have loved some of the roads out there, not to technical but not to boring either.

So where exactly is Oak Hill in relation to Henderson? I want to check it out sometime to watch some racing. Perfect weather for riding out there, may also have to hit up Shreveport sometime soon to :D

Click on more info and there are some brief directions and a phone # where you can call the owner to rent the track. I'm sure it's changed, but as long as you have a valid racing license, they would let us rent the track for $50/ person with a minumum of like $200. That was before the improvements. Not sure what they charge now.
