Ephedra never went away really, it is still in OTC medication. It was only banned from diet supplements.

Ephedra was banned. Ephedrine HCL is still legal as a bronchodilator. They both work a bit differently in the body, but are both stimulants to the CNS. Ephedrine HCL (the legal stuff when Ephedra was banned) is better for fat-loss.
