View Full Version : torn muscle and tendon on elbow
Ok I tore the muscle and tendon from the tricep into the joint of my right elbow.I have been working our real hard and lost apporximaltly 55 lbs in 4-5 months. I now cannot workout without further dammaging the joint according to the doctor.
I went to the gym the other day and tried doing some curls with a 15 lb dumbell. I did one curl and basically dropped the dumbell. So basically I can't be lifting anythin right now.
So my question would be what is the best exercise I can do for the next 6-8 weeks and still keep burning and keep my strength.
I have worked extremely hard the last 6 months and have seen great results!
I dont want to loose what I have gained!! Thanks for any help...

you say you LOST 55lbs, so I assume that you are still trying to lose weight? If you cant use your arm, you cant use your arm- just the way it is. Keep your calorie intake down, switch to some cardio. you wont gain mass, but you will keep losing weight.. your new muscle that you have built over the last few months will keep pounding the calories away.

If you can't lift do cardio. Just be sure yo burn more calories than you take in to lose weight. I don't believe in that "watch what you eat" bullshit. I like to eat so when I work out I just go longer and harder to burn it and keep my ass in shape.
Jordon yes i lost 55lbs and I want to keepo burning! It has been three weeks now and I haven't been able to lift.It has been burning me real bad cause I want to lift lol...
Anyhow, It feels like what mass I have gained in the last few months I have lost already and that has been driving me crazy!!!
I will stick to the cardio and keep eating good.Any particular cardio workout anyone recomend?
Thx for your help guys...

Running, no need for arms at all.
ok so its been three weeks since I worked out and I been just going crazy cause I want to work out!Well I worked out yesterday very light weight.I didn't push it just a good slow work out.No pain in my elbow or anything..I rested today and considering trying again tommorow..
You worked out yesterday. If it were my body, I won't feel it until tonight. Just make sure you don't redo your injury. That would suck to have to start your "time out" again.
I broke my elbow years ago and didn't take care of it. I was looking at a photo of me and realized my arm looked funny in it. I'm guessing it will always look pointed and weird due to not wanting to wait.
JPS
i worked out on wedsday and rested thursday and worked out today.I took it easy both days working out mainly just testing how my arm feels.but I feel fine no soreness or aches so far I will see what happens over the weekend..

Don't try to start pushing the weights too hard, too fast.
I dont plan on pushing hard at all for a few weeks I jsut want to gain strength back in my arm..
