I've been reading a lot of posts on dfwsportbike about this!!!
The thiefs cut a hole in your garage door and pull the door opener string to release the chain and open it up and walk off with it!!!

Make sure you take the rope off of your garage door!!! (where it hooks up to the door opener)

Sorry to hear it. This is why i put this on my gixxer every time i park it. And the reason I have a 12 gauge. Good luck with recovery

As shitty as it sounds, theives will just get "smarter"(if you want to call it that).
Everytime someone comes out with a new anti-theft device, theyll still find a way to steal it.
Hope you get it back in one piece!
Sucks the lengths you have to go to, to protect your things now

They tried to do that with my bike, I posted it a while back. They cut two holes in my garage, one to try to pull the rope which I had already removed and tied up, and then one to crawl through. They ended up cutting themselves up pretty bad and not getting my bike due to some very alert neighbors of mine that called the cops, my bike is now anchored into the garage and chained up inside the garage with one of my vehicles in the garage blocking it in and the button to open the garage from the inside has been diconnected as well. It's absolutely rediculous to have to go through a 30 minute lock down in my garage after every ride, but I now do it everytime I ride. If I ever catch someone trying to break into my garage it's over for them, plain and simple.......Im just tired of this crap.

My garage door is noisey as hell, right under my bedroom and both my wife and I are light sleepers. Wife used to date a cop before we met. If anyone jacked with my garage, they'd get a couple of barrels emptied in that ass and the only thing they'd get is a Police portrate done in chalk in my garage...even if I have to drag the MF back in!!!

If you value your life, don't mess with another man's home, family or toys!!!

Is it noisy with the Garage door opener?? Cause if that's it, there not using the door opener's there pulling the emergency strings and lifting them up, if your wondering how, go close your garage door and look to see how close the string hanging is to the door. Mine had a small cut with the metal pulled back. I not only removed the string but I also jammed the the part that pulls to where it will not release. There gonna have to cut a big enough hole to get the bike out.....lol.

where did this happen?

I don't have an opener, but it's the door that's loud and squeekey! We have aluminum doors and they are loud as hell against the track..

I would just make sure that if it's possible to lock it from the inside, I would definitely do it!

Trust me, just when you think you have done enough, think again!
I thought my stuff was safe in the garage with the string removed, I never thought anyone would cut a damn hole in my garage to crawl through........NEVER.

if he or whoever leaves a bike outside should leave a cover of some sort over the bike... if there is a cover its out of sight out of mind, someone would be less likely to steal a bike if they cant see it, put a wire threw the bottow witha lock, and it makes it more akward to lift....or just get a long bike cable and run it everywhere and lock it to your rim of your car or a fence or a tree....

Not quite dude, out of site out of mind??? mine was in a garage with the door down! in a row of 8 garages........No, if they target you it's gone if it's sitting outside anywhere......cover or no cover.

I used to have some shady friends...stearing locks are a joke! They'll just use a truck and a strong freind, and worry about your locks and shit later. I hate thieves!

I used to hang with some shady people too and I learned quite a bit too from them. Reality is if they want something, they will get it. I am not saying that they will get away or not get caught but they will at least attempt to do something and in the process they will fuck something up. I learned that if you don’t want your shit stolen then don’t leave it alone. I have a friend who just got a 03 Ninja and he takes the damn thing into his apartment every night. It’s a hassle but the last thing you want is for your shit to get stolen because you were too lazy to but it in a SECURE place. Also, be careful of what you say and talk about on the forums, they shop here as well. Thieves don’t feed off of peoples nice things; they feed off of laziness and ignorance. If you have a really nice object but it is really difficult to get and then next to it you have something that is not nearly as valuable but has value to it and it is easier to get then they will go for it instead. If you cover up something, out of site out of mind doesn’t work. If you want a thief to not bother you then make it as difficult to GET to, not just to steal, and they are more likely to leave you alone. Thieves are lazy just have to make it more work than they are willing to do. That is just my opinion.

Low Jack for bikes cost 600$. :(

GtRacer
04-14-2005, 07:30 PM
All low jack does is make sure that you find the remains of the bike. It wont get it back to you so you can ride it the next day. Unless you catch the theives as they are leaving and have time to contact the police so they can contact low jack so they can start locating it.

I know, and it was all within a matter of and hour or so from getting home, got home about 8:00 and got the knock on the door about 9-9:30. They didn't get it but it was really close, they were chased off by some of my neighbors.

I think that the low jack is your best option(as long as you find out it was stolen fairly soon). Soon as the unit is activated the police flock to it. I know Fort Worth employs the use of the trackers in alot of there cars and the cops end up playing a game to see who can find it first. Its expensive but alot cheaper than even a crapie bike. You might not get the bike back in one piece but id rather have my bike back in pieces then let some fucker sell all of it.

I think this is one area where they have the right idea in the Middle East! You steal shit...whack...there goes a finger...again...whack...no hand. You rape some one...whack, schlong is gone! If you're going to slap some one on the wrist for stealing...do it with an ax!!! Then if you see a guy with missing fingers or hands, and he doesn't look like a shop teacher, You'll keep and eye on that bastard!!!

Oh wait...Male dominated society...I think I got the rape one wrong...I think it's just a "High Five" or something.

It's not that I'm an angry person...I JUST DON'T LIKE POEPLE TOUCHING MY THINGS!!!!

I've had a tank bag and two $300 bycicles stollen back when I was an apartment dweller...Apartments suck!
