OMG I just heard the worst news in the whole world and wondered if it was true.

I have been told that caffeine causes those horrid little cellulite pockets on the back of your legs. I have tried to find supporting evidence but there is nothing to support or deny those rumors (that I havve found).

I don't drink coffee but I'm an avid tea drinker. About 5 cups a morning. Lately I've noticed that even with exercise, I have those nasty things popping up on my legs. OMG *faints* But seriously, I know I'm old. I know I'm not in terrific shape but is it true that caffeine can cause that?

Help an old kindergarten teacher out! :)

Eating too much causes cellulite, not caffiene.

LMAO.

Yea, when too much caffeine is combined with too many nachos it will cause cellulite on your ass.

As a side note, many of the "cellulite creams" out there have caffeine as an ingredient.

Thank God! I can still have my tea!

And yeah, I am watching my calories and exercising 5 days a week. I just get discouraged that I'm still at a 10 pound to go mark.

But on the good side...... I GET MY TEA! You have no idea how happy that makes this old lady.

nobody on here would know unless they have a PhD and have done actual testing.

i have my own theories though. what causes those little "dings" in womens legs, isn't caffeine. It's lack of exercise and poor dieting.

I do know, however, that tea is horribly bad for muscles. It breaks them down for some reason.

The only tea worth drinking is Green Tea, which has been proven to help prevent cancer and shrink tumors in test/studies.

They say regular black tea, like Lipton and shit like that, isn't so good for you.

Tea also lowers testoserone and HGH levels in men through another study.

I guarantee that too much caffeine will not cause cellulite on your thighs.

It's lack of exercise and poor dieting.

So tell me, why do athletes get cellulite?

i don't know any athletes that have cellulite. so you would have to find one and ask them :)

I would assume, again, poor diet. Just because someone is an athlete, doesn't mean they don't have a shit diet.

cellulite is not caused by overeating or lack of exercise

it's a skin condition....

Cellulite appears in the subcutaneous level of skin tissue. Fat cells are arranged in chambers surrounded by bands of connective tissue called septae. As water is retained, fat cells held within the perimeters of this area expand and stretch the connective tissue. Eventually this connective tissue contracts and hardens (sclerosis) holding the skin at a non-flexible length, while the surrounding tissue continues to expand with weight, or water gain. This results in areas of the skin being held down while other sections bulge outward, resulting in the lumpy, 'cottage-cheese' appearance.

Again, you obviously have no clue what you are talking about, nor do you know much about cellulite.

Or black tea for that matter. Black tea bad for you. LOL, keep going brainiac.

Check out the research at Boston's School of Medicine and in the Netherlands regarding black tea and its positive effects on LDL and the reversing of abnormal functioning blood vessels. Then tell me how bad black tea is.

how come cellulite is most often found in fat chicks then? do fat people have worse skin than skinny or fit people? i have seen thick broads that had some cellulite on their legs that either improved it or got rid of it by working out.

your probably right though. whenever i was dating, before I got married, I always looked at a chicks mom's legs. If she wasn't good to go, then she went. lol

Genetics is a bitch. hahaha

and since nobody ever fucked up research before....lmao

however, i do know that it lowers testoserone and HGH levels in men, because I take HGH and Testratropinol, and is very adamant about staying away from tea while taking it or your wasting your time.

That is why you look for research (especially from two unrelated organizations) to confirm finding.

Why would green tea be anymore useful to you than black tea? They come from the same friggin' plant. The only difference is in green tea leaves are dried quickly where as the leaves for black tea are dampened and allowed to dry. The only difference is the amount of antioxidant polyphenols which gives green tea its "magic".

They are one in the same.

like i said, i was just assuming and had also mentioned i was no doctor on the subject.

my grandfather got cancer when i was a kid and his doc told him to drink lots of green tea, and he did. it got rid of his cancer. he was cancer free for almost ten years before he got it again, this time, it was too agressive and killed him.

also, i had read a study about tests done in China regarding the effects of green tea and cancer. the tests were conducted in China because even with all the horrid air pollution and heavy smoking, the cancer rate in the Chinese was much lower than Americans. I mean, waaay lower. So they took 12 lab mice and gave them all cancer. then they gave 6 of the mice green tea and the others, not. over a period of time, the 6 that got the green tea, showed significant tumor shrinkage. the other rats died.

as far as the differences in green and black tea go, just going by what my doc told me. i am heavy into bodybuilding and that is just what he told me to stay away from. maybe its just the caffeine and not the tea itself. i don't drink the shit anyhow, so I don't care either way. :)

I appreciate all the input to the subject. I think I'll stick with WATER and get over my caffeine withdrawls in a day or two. I know I'm addicted. I know it can't hurt to stop drinking it....I might as well try it.

I'll take a pic of my thighs if it works ROFL yeah yeah, it's old, wrinkled and nasty lookin, but I know you guys ..... the pic comment would come sooner or later. Might as well joke about it first and disgust you all ahead of the game. :p
