I used to take the hydroxycut with ephedra and it worked great.
Now I take with no ephedra in it and it does nothing to burn fat just seems to make me eat a little less. That is not cutting ht mustard.
Any Ideas ?

The old fashioned way? Working out works wonderfully for losing fat. Doesn't have harmful side-effects like ephedrin either. But if you want the chemical help, get ephedrin and stack it with caffeine and aspirin. No need to buy "weight loss" supplements.

Yup, that coupled with a calorie-specific low-fat diet is THE most effective way to lose bodyfat in the long-term.

low calorie high protien low carb low fat diet coupled with an ephedra based fat burner n lots of work helped me go from a fat (around 38% bf) to a lean 200 at around 14% right now... Thats about the quickest way... Since ephedra is no longer availble in fat burner form i stack my ripped fuel w/ bronchaide which is just ephedra by itself... The cheapest drug fat burner in the world would be a bottle of bronchaide, bottle of no doz or similar caffeine pill n some asprin... The cheapest period is diet n excersise... Good luck!

Ill tell you a way to lose weight, there is a doctor in Irving over off of 183 and Story his name is Dr. Merle Pounds, he is a weight loss doctor. Go see him the visit is 50 and the pills are 50, I cant remember the name, adepx or something like it but I lost 70 pounds on them, you go see him once a month. The pills have been around for over 50 years and have not had any harmful effects that I have ever heard of, the only thing that it did to me was give me cotton mouth, but no jitters anything like that. Let me know if you have any more questions and combined with a good work out the pills work fabulous!!

Any tips on between meal snacks? I've been trying to stick with nuts, but they are high in fat?

Almonds but they are high in fat too. If you want high protein without fats then a can of tuna or a protein shake wouldn't be a bad choice.

Eat decent and run. 12-16 miles a week should suffice and make a noticeable difference. Just drink plenty of water, or you'll fall out and get fat while recovering. :D
I advise being careful though, depending on the look you want. I thought I was filled out properly until I seen pics of me after I lost about 60 pounds. I was a rail basically. So now I'm having gain and lift a lot more as opposed to running.

Drink lots of water also because water is required to metabolize fat. 4 grams of water to every gram of fat.
No water, no fat metabolism.

Split up your meals, smaller portions, 5-6 times a day. This will increase your metabolism.
Skip the processed foods and eat whole grain everything and lean meats, veggies.
Whole grains = won't spike blood glucose levels like low-gi value carbs. Higher blood sugar = catabolic state = fat storing state.
A good supplement that works like insulin is K-R-ALA. Taken 3 times a day before meals, it can keep blood sugar levels low preventing carb fat storage.
Another source of fat storage is cortisol, which is caused by stress and sleep and not enough sleep. You can kill cortisol with transdermal 7-OXO or with oral 7-OH (metabolites of DHEA, in metabolite form so no bad side effects associated with DHEA).
Throw in a thermo. Avant Labs H.E.A.T. or VPX Redline are my legal fav's.
Cardio 2-3 times a week on an empty stomach first thing in the morning (its hard). Really won't effect muscle that much but if you are afraid of burning muscle, drink a low to no carb protein drink before hand. The reason doing cardio on an empty stomach works is because your carb glycogen stores are empty when you wake up from your body using them as energy during sleep. Your carbs are gone, so your body goes straight to fat stores for energy. Even though this sounds all fun and nice, the cardio will be much more difficult than having a nice belly full of cheerios. This one works.
Get your sleep and drink at least a gallon of water a day.

Ok, I'm a dork for not knowing this but I'm totally amazed. Sleep effects your weight?
I don't sleep well (I wake up every 1 to 2 hours and stay awake for ~20 min). I haven't been able to lose any weight in the past month. I eat 3 small meals a day and 1 snack in the mid afternoon (~1000 cal a day). I drink lots of water and even cut out the caffiene, but no weight loss....good thing is I haven't gained...yet.

Sleep is a very important factor. Try magnesium supplements if you have trouble sleeping. I'm taking ZMA (Zinc, Magnesium & vitamin B-6) right before bedtime and it works for me.

Might I ask what adverse side affects you've seen or heard about with regard to the use of DHEA? Thanks.

The best thing you can do is a consistent and balanced diet. Low carb diets aren't good for you. Just make sure you have enough carbs to feed the muscles and not too much to be stored as fat.

That's great news, I'm glad it helped you.
Ok - I utterly failed today trying that Tuna and Protein Shake diet. Let's see, I had already had breakfast when I read this so....
B - Eggs with picante sauce and decaf tea
L - Tuna and water
So far so good but....I got hungry at school and my kiddos were having snack and well...... I ate Goldfish and an apple slice!!!! The Horror!
Oh well, I'll try again tomorrow. Dinner was going to be a protein shake but I'm thinking I'll just have chicken instead. I can't stand those drinks. I'll get the courage up tomorrow to try that.
JPS
PS, not that you care but posting it will help me do it tomorrow! hehe Now I'm accountable.

granted it is hard and you will get alittle tired but ive dropped up to 15 lbs in a week before but packed it back on in the following 2 weeks cause i stopped doing it ,but i onlly eat carb after a workout now ,close to 80 - 100 grams of carbs after a workout and thats it, the rest is protien all day for thats enough carbs to feed the muscles for sure, but for just wieght loss try the tuna ,protien thing again
IF you wanna lose wieght fast ,tuna in sunflower oil is good for you aswell the fat in the sunflower oil actuall helps you lose weight, now NO carbs for a long period of time is bad if you are drinking the protien shake with nofat milf then you are still taking in 13 or 14 grams aof carbs with each shake
Few articles to read before starting the low carb fab:

Cut simple carbs to minimum but do eat complex carbs, your body will thank you for that. Decrease the amount of (complex) carbs the later it gets on the day and eat lean meat/fish/etc dinner with steamed veggies (seasoned but no fat added). Start the day with plenty of complex carbs (oatmeal, whole rye bread, mysli for example) and some protein.
My protein drink says to mix with water. It's absolutely gross! But I'm pretty good at swallowing just about anything.
As for long term carbs....I have periods where I go without carbs for up to a month at a time. I guess that's why my body really wants it now. But, I've had carbs for the past 2 weeks. Hopefully I'll be ok.
I have noticed ..... and this was a realization about 30 min ago. I have lost muscle and a lot of it. I couldn't even start my own lawnmower! Do you know how embarassing that is?
Ok - I will see what I can do on the tuna and shake diet. I'm trying to get into a size 4 by May 15th! (next vacation - and I plan on wearing a bikini)

How much weight are you looking to drop? I hope you don't have many pounds to lose or you're just going backwards. The best thing you could do is try to gain some of that muscle back.

Ummm...I think a good well rounded diet is the best. You should take in everything, but with moderation. Depriving your body of stuff is not ideal. Cardio, is the way to cut fat and working hard.
That is my opinion. I absolutely don't agree with starvation/depriving x stuff from diet techniques. I'll cut back on my intake of chow, but otherwise you're playing a risky game.
Take care,

I'm looking at 10ish pounds. I'm a size 6 right now.
My work out is.... EVERY MORNING I work on my abs (15 min) which is the worst part of my body. I'm not a spring chicken anymore and two children has left my midsection thick.
but my evening routine varies
M - W - F - Run at various speeds for 20 to 30 min
T - TH - Video followed by light weight lifting (started the weights this week)

Give your abs some rest. Every other day max, certainly not every day. Remember, there is no such thing as spot reduction.

Avoid doing abs daily. Bad idea and don't work the "sides" out too much. They just inflate and make you look wider then you really are. 15-20 minutes 3 times a week is plenty. What is more important is the fat hiding the 6 pack or highly toned abs that are there. Basically, cardio is what you'll want to do more often to melt the fat away.
Likely your abs are strong as hell, but working them is a poor way to burn fat. If you burn fat, you'll notice improvement in your ab area. I find running and swimming are kick ass ways to lose the fat you want to lose.
