Just got a pop-up from Norton saying I got a virus called bloodhound.W32.EP and it can't fix it. Anybody else?

This should be in the computer section. Most viruses are not "fixed" you either quarantine them or delete them. Your choice.

Try McAfee, I've been using it for awhile, and imo is better then nortan.
(I also have Nortan 05, but perfer McAfee)

symantec antivirus runs really good imo has never let me down on any viruses that it has found. but yes they dont get fixed fixed, they get quarantined and either you keep it there and it wont do nothing you can just delete it.

What I like about McAfee, is that it "cleans" infected files.

Symantec owns Norton AntiVirus. My vote is AVG all the way.

Anyone ever tried a little company called
Computer Associates...they make a program that more than 90% of the fortune 500 companies use. Called eTrust Antivirus....Seems to work awesome....got rid of a few viruses taht norton macafee or Trend Micro could either not detect or could not delete.

Computer Associates = McAfee
eTrust is basically the McAfee equivilant to Norton Corporate

<-- Also a user of AVG for quite some time.

When it comes to corporate environments, I find that Symantec is superior. It is easier to manage and you can clean multiple systems at a time, among other features.

I have little experience with McAfee's corporate products (except Majic, which sucks) but their home AV and anti spyware tools are pretty darn good.

Of here at MS, our Anti Spyware tool is still in beta but I'm surprised at how good it is, for a beta. It's ALMOST as good as AdAware, but superior to SpyBot, IMO, because it gets updated alot more often.

While working at MS, the biggest problems I see with Symantec/Norton is that most of their customers are using outdated filter drivers. These drivers run at the kernel level and the older ones can cause performance issues or blue screens. The problem is that their auto update feature doesn't work on updating drivers.

At work we have used Norton/Symantec Anti Virus forever and it's been great, updates all the time, no virus infections for a while now. I use AVG at home though, and apart from some update issues, it works good.
