I went to Kennedale last night, just for the fun of it. I ended up with a new best 1/8 mile ET and 60 ft ET. My previous ones were 9.3s and 2.2s. The two personal record breaking runs are as follows:

8:42 PM
60': 1.876
1/8: 9.277 @ 77.73 MPH

8:45 PM
60': 2.155
1/8: 9.157 @ 78.22 MPH

The part I don't understand is how the first run can have the better 60' ET but have the lesser 1/8th. And how can the second run have the better 1/8th but the lesser 60'. Same car. Same driver. Same lane. 3 minutes apart.

its all about acceleration. you accelerated slower off the line for the 2.155 60' but the rate of acceleration rose for the entire distance after the 60' trap.

You still on street tires? 1.8 is damn good if you are. I take it that you have a 5 speed. It has to be the driver. Unless you had something go wrong with your car.

Did you hit the rev limiter? Shift at different RPM's?

I think their damn time machine screwed up if none of the above happened.

sprayed 347: Right, it is about acceleration. What I don't understand is why the acceleration would change that much. It's the same car. Same engine. Same transmission. Same tires. Same weight (roughly).

Traction? I was consistently hitting 2.2s for my 60' ETs at Kennedale during the Spring Cruise. And 2.4s in San Antonio a couple of weeks ago. Weather? It was probably 10-15* cooler last night than that one Sunday afternoon. If it was all about traction, then something was causing me to hook better last night.

SSMAN: I have the factory 17x8 Goodyear street tires with my 4 speed auto. I had Traction Control off and O/D locked out. The EEC scheduled the shifting for me at the predefined RPM. I was also thinking the clock screwed up, but my other 60' ETs that night were like 2.1, 2.0x and 1.9x. I was having such a good night that I probably did 10-12 runs!

did you stage with your back tires on the 1.8 60 ft?

Hahaha! I swapped engines with this 03/04 Cobra.

Your MPH is wrong on your 60 ft...That mph is the 330' mph, not the 60 foot mph...59 mph @ the 60' mark would be shaggin out pretty good!

Oh yea. It shows I'm new to this. Thanks.
