Man, that was a huge fireball!!!!! :eek: Definately a reason why any nitrous user should get every piece of saftey equipment possible to prevent stuff like that from happening.

I had the same thing happen to me in a race about 10years ago. It didn't blow the intake, but it blew all the plastic piping and factory air box into 1000 pieces. The fire ball coming from under the hood was f-ing huge. The gas puddles in the intake, eventually igniting.

A friend of mine installed a bastardized Buick kit on his V6 Ranger truck. Well, he forgot to put the pill in the fuel side so it was wide open. They got on the highway one night to test it, hit the button and it buckled the hood up, shot flames 10 feet out each side, and blew everything associated with the intake system into thousands of pieces. He put the intake back on it and discovered that the engine was toast. It had bent several rods and valves. He made several attempts to get it fixed under warranty but Ford didn't buy it. "I tried to start it one morning and it made a HUGE backfire".

That was killsprays car. Happened last week? He was going to race on *** but the other guys sister came into town so it was held off. Thank goodness! No word from him yet so..... :(
