okay so i have this project for one my my classes and as a visual aid i am trying to make a 5-10 minute clip made up of clips of other movies. Now i have all the DVDs of the clips i want to make, is there a program that can rip the DVDs to my harddrive and then edit the movies down to a few clips?

Any help on this before april 15th would be grrrrrrrreat

Play with DVD Shrink, it can rip the parts. It's free. I'm not sure if you can author a DVD with it from different discs.

You can dl dvd Decrypter to rip it to the hd. DVD Shrink can do the same unless the dvd is protected. Anyhow once all the dvds are on the HD, open DVD shrink click re-author and open files one at a time, dragging the ones(titles) you want from the right colum to the left. Then click backup and tick the "burn with dvd decrypter", plop a blank dvd in and it will reencode and burn automatically.

Do you have any links for more info? I'm curious about the protection they are using. I have problems with maybe 1 out of 50 DVD's with Shrink that Decrypter will do.

I really can't recall but i think the Decrypter update page had some info on the crap those fuggers are putting on there. I don't even use Shrink to rip anymore, Decrypter does it all.

For me it's an extra step to go back and forth with the two programs, and takes more time. I use Shrink first and if it fails then go to Decrypter.
