HAHAHA, took his ass off the light, it was instant green, so we both had a shitty reaction time, we hooked about the same time, and he never pulled me. This was in my friend's new 05 350Z Touring with a 6 speed, first time I have ever driven one. I went 14.0 @ 100 the first time ever in it, and a 14.2 @ 99.7 when I ran the 05 later in the night with a colder track. He ran a 14.4 after I told him how to launch smoother, he was running 14.7s most of the night before...

I am not impressed with Ford so much.

I hate to say it, but I'd rather have a Z than a new GT.

Both are nice but isn't a Z about $8k more than a base model GT? I know some 05 GT's can be had for under $25k.

I dunno what they cost, but you can get one from cele3 for a great damn price... :D I would figure they would run you about the same price, optioned similarly.

i love the 05 stangs...but this last friday someone i know from a local import board ran a 13.4 in a stock Z with the filter removed...He posted the timeslips and everything...thats not to bad at all... believe it was a 1.6 60ft , according to him not even the nissan sites believe him because the 60ft was crazy for a stock Z but he showed them the scanned slips.

Eh, that's a crazy 60. My old '98 with gears, exhaust, stall, and drag radials went 1.96 60, 13.4 @ 103.8.

i know it sounds crazy but plenty of witness' that i trust and they all said it ran the dam thing...

i dont get how it pulled it off especially on street tires...but like i said, i trust people that saw it and it ran the number..

i dont care either way, just showing what i heard

Hmm, i believe the touring models are the top of the line models? badass cars, but then again, they cost a lot of coin. I love the brakes.

You put a shitty enough driver in any car and they will have problems. I have little doubt that a new GT is stronger at the dragstrip than a new tree-fiddy-zee. It would be foolish to base their performance on one run.

If so, i think that all 5.0s are dog shit because one time i saw one run a 15.2. ;)
Or i could mention the new Zo6 that wrecked at kennedale, it must suck too because it hit the wall .

Its possible that the 1.6 60 foot was an error, as that is extremely quick, and damn near inhuman. A betting man would say that its not accurate. Lets see if he can duplicate the run so its not just some fluke.

I cut a 1.7 60ft with my bike stock height and I thought that was moving pretty good. I doubt a stock 350z could pull it out of the hole.

has to be bull shit, for that car to even get a 1.6 he would have to launch at 6K on the bottle and dead hook.

I call BS as well. I don't see that car cutting a 1.60 60 ft. on stock radials, and probably not even on sticky tires. Anybody can photoshop a timeslip. My Lightning wouldn't cut any more than a 1.80 60 with 555R's, and there is no way in hell that 350 would beat it to the 60 ft mark. If the timeslip is legitimate, the 60 ft lite malfunctioned....I've ran 181 mph in the 1/8th at Redline per one of my timeslips  , My car must have found some hidden horsepower that day! It was windy that day and something blowing around probably tripped the lites, it happens..My question would be that of consistency. Can it back up this 60 ft, even within .10 second? If not, well.....

It's the top of the line fooo fooo model (leather,VDC,nav etc) . The touring has the same brakes as every other model, the track model has the Brembo's. All the Z's should run about the same (same engine output regardless of model), the touring the slowest due to it's weight.

Yeah, but you are from Quinlan....You probably would take a 79 Chevy Silverado with a 350 and glass packs over a new Superduty F250 too! :p
