View Full Version : Random Pain
Okay, I'm going to try to describe this. Left knee, tendon I'm guessing, that runs behind it but along the outside. It's KILLING me. It's never hurt before, but I can't straighten my leg all the way. I tried to do leg presses yesterday and I thought it was going to rip out of my skin. Anyone know if it's an important part of my knee or something?

anything knee related is important, there's not really much there but a few tendons and a kneecap

the back part is where ur acl and pcl run there acl controls ur side movement which will normally only hurt when mass pressure is applied or ur are moving lateral.Pcl on the hand is the main central ligament in ur knee which makes it hard to do anything including walkin

i dont know what the cause is, but a quick solution is to not work your legs if your knees hurt! :D

It could be your cartilage. I twisted mine a couple months ago and tore the meniscus. Had to take it easy ever since. Still praying I wont need surgery. Does it hurt if you cross your leg with your ankle over your knee? Or try crouching down as low as you can and try to walk flat footed.
Your best bet is to go to an orthopedic surgeon and have them check on it. Your knees are too important to let go.

EVERYTHING is important especially around the joints. If you keep exercising it you can agrevate it even further to the point of it becoming a long term injury that may never go away.
Whenever I've pulled a tendon or muscle I would leave it out of my program for around a month. Then slowly start using it again w/ light weight. If I would feel pain I'd let off for another week, try again until I could comfortably lift w/out pain. Some pulls I've had would take up to 3 months to completely heal w/out pain. Maybe it's just me, but I don't want to end up w/ all these quirks especially in my joints when I get even older than I am now. My knees are already a "rice crispy" mess. :)
Thanks! It definately doesn't hurt near as much today as it has been, but it's still sore. I skipped leg presses and extensions today just in case.

When you do leg presses are you fully extending and locking your knees?
I know of a lot of people who get into this habit and it's not a good one. At full extension your knees should still be slightly bent. Form is everything. :)

I disagree. You simply don't want to lock it out fast. A healthy joint is designed to be capable of supporting whatever weight your muscles can pick up.
I do agree that if you're having joint pain you should quit working it. Give it some time off and if it hurts when you start working it again have it professionally examined.
I never lock my knees, and it doesn't hurt anymore. Thanks!
