Hey, I've been looking through this board and researching creatine and decided to try it out. I bought a small bottle of GNC creatine monohydrate (50 servings) because it was only $12. I've heard a lot of different opinions and just want some of your experiences with it and what I can expect. Thanks

One thing that I can tell you to expect is to pay too much at GNC. But I guess that info would have been better before you went. Sorry.

Load it up one week and then maintain it for a couple of weeks. You will see some weight gain and will look bigger almost immediately. Unfortunately that is just water and will go away when you are off of it.

dont load creatine.

creatine is most effective post workout (one serving within 15-30 minutes after your workout), and one serving in the moring before breakfast.

if you get the shits, you are taking too much.

goooood luck!

Okay, maybe I should have specified "loading".

Most people want instant and quick gains. However, unless you are in a hurry to gain muscle mass loading is not necessary. Studies have shown that people who load have greater gains than people who take just 5 grams a day after the first 2 weeks. However, after 4 weeks both groups are at an equal level.

Here (http://www.teenbodybuilding.com/nathan6.htm) is an article that explains it better.

The best gains I have experienced on it were taking it immediately post workout with a high GI type drink. I buy the Optimum Nutrition Grape flavored "Pre Load Creatine". It has the dextrose and all that stuff in there that is supposed to ram it into your cells and blah blah blah... But raising your GI post workout is supposed to be beneficial and I can't remember exactly why right this minute. I actualyl mix my one scoop of creatine stuff with 2 scoops of vanilla whey protein and about 12 - 14 oz water. Tastes great and covers the bases for a great post workout shake! I make the same exact shake for first thing in the morning on non-workout days.
You want to do the raise you GI levels thing first thing in the morning so that you can switch your body out of its state of Catabolism where it is eating muscle.

Hope that helps a little.

There is no proof that loading does anything but waste it.

Probably a dumb question, but what is "GI"?

And, if GNC is not the place to go... where is?

Hope that helps a little.Should you keep taking whey protien with creatine?

Do you have a shake in the morning on the days you work out or just after your workout?

In my opinion i think creatine is good for starters but once your on it for a while its a waste. If i was you i would buy some Cell Tech and Nitro Tech and mix the two together. Cell Tech will help you develope muscle and Nitro Tech will help you gain body weight depending on if you eat the right kinds of food or whatnot. Or go my route and buy some Evolve, which is more effective than creatine and cell tech.Don't get me wrong, Cell Tech is very effective and has gotten its name, but if you still wanna keep you muscle shape and definition when you dont work out, i would use Evolve. But everyones body is different so if you like something that works for you, then stay with it.

why wouldn't you? one has nothing to do with another. creatine doesn't care how much protein you drink or eat.

drink as many shakes as your body can handle in a day. lol  try to consume 1.5-2grams of protein per lb. of bodyweight per day.

most importantly, drink one after your workout and one before bed. ;)

I wouldn't waste my money on Cell Tech. Make your own.

Keep taking the protein with the creatine.

I have not been having the creatine in the mornings of the work out days, but I am considering starting to do that. Instead I try to eat something high GI like grapes on those mornings.

That is what I get too! IT is the best tasting one they make that I have tried. Adn if you mix it with the vanilla ON whey in water it all tastes good together.

i have to disagree there. i hate the sour taste. i drink about 6 of the ON Whey protein shakes a day though, but I drink the chocolate. I double the servings too. So I use two scoops per shake, which is about 50g protein per shake. :)

But it is goooood shit.

Try taking the Labrada Super Charge before your workouts, then after your workouts take one scoop of the ON ATP Creatine, and you will gain a shitload of lean mass ninja quick. Plus, your veins will start popping out everwhere. :)
