Monday in Arlington

Everybody,

I have been reading for a while but as you can see it is my first post. As stated before, this being my first post you all may have already heard about this but those who haven’t should check it out.

Every Monday night in Arlington there is a massive gathering of all kinds of cars. I would say 2/3 imports but Mustangs are being represented. Last Monday there were about 250 cars. Mostly imports with the scattered Mustangs, Camaros, Trucks, Bikes, we even had a cherry 1972 Pantera. The guy had replaced the Cleveland with a Rousch 427. Several trucks with airbags and cars with Hydros.
Last week the Hooters Girls and the Gold club girls were there handy out free entry and wings, and also making themselves available for pictures.

Anyway if anybody is interested you can find us in the Costco parking lot off of Matlock and I 20 in Arlington. We begin around 8PM Once you get to Costco you cant miss 200 to 300 cars. This is an organized event with Costco permission and the Police are present and over see the whole thing.

welcome, but i think most know about it b/c its been posted in the past weeks already. But thanks for the info anyways. I go out there with some import guys but take my stang. Yeah, it does get pretty big but it seems like pretty soon it will get a little out of hand/control. There are too many people parking in the middle of the lanes and just blocking others from drving through. Its good to have a great turn out but there seems to be a little too many IMO. But hey, some people like it that way.

Mild, you are right there are people parking in the middle some. It was only bad in one section last Monday, ironically enough it was a bunch of Mustangs and Ford trucks. It is still a blast to see all the cars and people. It says on the DFWCC site that they will have a Dyno this time.

I've gone for the past 3 weeks, and last week was the biggest by far of the 3. There was a mobile dyno there last week, but it was leaving as I got there around 9:00. If you guys go out there, stop by and say hi. I'll be with mild2002gt and a few other guys.

JJ didnt see you out there shithead. Wasnt looking for the GTI so thats probably why oh well maybe next time if they let it happen next week. I heard that it wont happen anymore. Atleast i got to see all the hype for one week.

Too many ricer d1cks out there...this is the first week I felt out of place. There were easily 600 cars this evening. Getting too busy for me. And like the other guy said...15/16th (he said 2/3) of the cars out there are rice.

I drove 50 minutes to see a giant ricefest. All the cars that dyno'd seemed to be all sub 300 HP cars and it was all in all gay. But I'll take that 551 HP orange Skyline.

I checked it out, but after getting stuck for 30 minutes behind two trucks doing their hydraulic show I was finally able to get a few guys to move some cars, so I could get the hell out of there. To much chaos for me!

Yea I too heard that last night was going to be the last meet there. I was talking to a staff guy and police officer. They were telling me that the manager of Costco had to main problems with us meeting there. The first was the Pitt bulls in the p-lot and the guys showing up early. The manager says that the dogs are a high risk in that environment. Since I am a Pitt bull owner, I would have to disagree. My dog loves people and other dogs, but I haven’t taken him out there just because the Pitts bad rep. the second complaint was that people started showing up at 7 or so the last couple weeks. This was bad for business because customers couldn't get in or out of the p-lot easily. The staff member was telling me that they would find another location as quick as possible. He was also telling me that they have filed paper to be incorporated and the reason for this is they can get insurance and collect money from people coming in. these two things would make the meets a lot easier for everyone. More places would be willing to let them rent a space for a night if they have insurance. Its all-legal b/s, but at least they are trying to make it legal. Problem is though if they charge $5 a person the attendance would probably be a lot less. People don’t like to pay for that kind of thing at least IMO. I know I wouldn’t be out there as often if at all.

Now for the cars that were there, yea there are definitely a lot of ricers out there. Some are respectable and others are just well.... ricers, need I say more! If you know what you’re looking for then there are some fast cars there. The obvious was the trailered cars; we know those were built races cars. Did anyone see the turbo viper out there that the owner claims is making over 1000hp at the wheels. He was parked in the corner of the lot where the dyno was. There are some fast turbo civics, a couple mkIV supras, the Draguar, and a couple cammed out camaros. Not much for a fast fox out there. My point anyways is there are some fast cars out there. Plus there is a mix of everyone's different interest. I try to respect everyone even if I hate what they have done to there car, truck, suv, moped, etc. we should just be happy that we can get together in that environment and nothing catastrophic happened. I’m looking forward to doing it again soon; only next week I will have my car out there!

The supercharged tacoma is a buddy of mine. He also dynoed his 02 Saleen s281. The Saleen did 295 at the wheels on 7 psi and the tacoma was 237?? not sure on the boost. To bad he didn't have the nitrous on with tacoma. That little truck has surprised some people. He needs to have both of his cars tuned. The Saleen was showing 10.0 at 4800 all the way to redline on the wideband. We were a little disappointed with the Saleen and happy with truck!

if you said it or not, the talk was in the crowd. people knew that it was making 1000+ hp. i would say 932 is about as close to 1000 as any of those kids would ever see on the street. its funny how a car is known in the crowd and the owner never said anything. anyways big props to you if it was you there lastnight, i was impressed. cant say i have ever seen a 1000hp viper in person.

Unfortunately A part of having that many cars in one tight space is that you will get stuck a lot. I am sorry for that Oden. We saw you and I asked Jason if it was you. Great looking car by the way.

We arrived about 8 and got a good parking spot and just stayed put. I had a good time walking around and looking at the numbers of cars. As one person said he thought that there were about 600. I would have to agree that it is only a matter of time before something happens and it is shut down. DFWStangs need our own event. I dont know the area, somebody think of a good place and we should have a big meet.

If they start to charge admission they will 50% of the people wanting to watch. I got there early and there was a guy/ guessing the manager who asked me why are you here? I advisedm im wating for the dyno, and he smarted off and walked away. Its hard to get a parking lot that big and have a get together. SOmething always has to go wrong. :mad:

Whether youve got 932RWHHP or a 1000 do you think any of those little ricers have a chance? I dont think so. And its not like 932 is slow in my book. Not bad i saw you in the corner but didnt stop to take a closer look. I will next time if any of them allow it. (meaning the car show). :D

Thanks for the compliment. I was hoping to be able to pull through a few lines and find somewhere to park, but I made the wrong turn and people were parked in the middle of the drive instead of in the parking areas.

You should have. I really like to talk to domestic car owners b/c you guys understand why I dont have a wing, neons, and a CF hood. No honestly, I really like to meet the guys from the forums so next time come say hello.

A 1000/932 HP out of anything that you drove up there is impressive.

Im not saying my car is slow, but the claim of 1000 rwhp vs. 932rwhp is a huge jump. And, I dont even drive my car around with that much power anyways. On the street it's more like 760rwhp/870rwtq. I have variable boost, and anything faster just isnt controllable. Thanks for the compliments...

Wednesday we will be in a meeting to find out where we will be moving this.. We're trying so hard to make this work.. as far as an admission fee to attend, this is still a possibility.. but not a done deal.. but if we do, we will try to have more stuff as in food, merchandise, & entertainment.. our next Event/GTG is schedule for April 18th.. for more information on this you can check out the offical site www.dfwcc.com Later

Where are you out of? Tonight at 190 and coit was a pretty good turn out dont know if thats anywhere in your area. Try to stop by next time and ill do the same.
