I hit 405 today! I did one completely unassisted and was ready to rerack the weight but the guy spotting told me to do two more. It took me a second to rebalance the weight, but then I did two more (of course he lifted some on the second and a lot on the third). But I did get one clean and smooth unassisted rep!! I'm happy :D

My previous max was 375 and my goal was to hit 405 by summer. I don't plan to actually go any higher (I'd like to keep my joints healthy) but my next goal is to be able to rep 405.

congrats homie!! my goal before the summer was just a measley 300lbs but just two days ago I hit 280lbs!!! so I figure within a month I'll hit 300 so by the summer I hope to get 330, maybe 350 with the right supplements! :D

Thats damn good!!

I took a break this year due to a shoulder injury and when I went back after 10 months, I hit the bench and did one smooth 295 lift.....then I stopped again :( The most I've lifted was 325(with a lift off from spotter) I think this summer I'm going to start again and try to get 350 before the year is out.

congrats on the max lift.

Thanks. I'm nowhere near you, but I'm happy. One day I'll rep 405 like you :D

My tricepts are killing me today. I hadn't lifted heavy for about 2.5 months whcih goes to show that you can still get stronger doing high reps (3-4 sets of 12). I'll probably lift heavy again this week and then go back to my higher reps. Now that I hit my bench goal I've gotta get some of this fat off my gut :(

did you use calipers?

that is still a good weight for 6'3 man. 250lbs is my ultimate competing/bodybuilding goal. i am 5'8 and 198 and can press around 345 or so a few times.

If I gain any more weight, I can't compete in my weight class I want to and will be at the bottom of the next weight class. (light-heavyweight class is 176lbs-198lbs) I am about 8% body fat right now, maybe less. This is my first year to compete so I will have to see how it goes. Maybe I will try to move up to heavyweight class next year.

Anyhow, enough rambling, congrats again.

I can barely bench the bar, lmfao. I don't embarass myself at the gym by even attempting to bench press.

Unless she can remain absolutely stiff it becomes more work to stabilize the weight than to actually lift it. It's the same for paramedics/firefighters and such, I can pick up a 100lb dumbell in each hand and carry them all over the gym fairly easily, but it's totally different to try to pick up an unconscious 200lb man and drag him out of a burning building.

Pressing a 100 lb girl feels like sawing a bar in half and trying to bench 150.
