Where: Freebirds in Fort Worth
Date: March 17, 2005 [Thursday]
Time: 8:00 PM
Why: Just a dinner GTG
Who's Invited: Anyone
RSVP: PM me if you think you'll be able to make it.
I was wondering if maybe some of you guys wanted to meet up at Freebirds in Fort Worth and have dinner sometime on Thursday, March 17.
I'd really like to meet some of y'all. If you don't know what Freebirds is, then you need to get out more often. It's only the best burritos (in my opinion) around.
Anywho, Freebirds is right off of Hulen St in Fort Worth. To get there, exit 20 and then go towards the mall. At the first traffic signal that does not take you to the mall, turn right (this should be Overton Ridge). Then go down past the first light and then at the next place you can turn left, turn left. Then turn into the Ultimate Electronics parking lot and look to your left, and voila: there's Freebirds World Burrito.
There will be a balloon at our table, so you don't accidentally sit at the wrong table. Hope to see some of you there!

Are you going to try and make this a weekly thing? I might be able to venture over that way maybe next week.

I'd like to try that place out sometime. Everyone says its badass. Alas tommorow is St.Pattys day, so I'll more than likely be drunk and not able to make it.
If clayton goes next week, I'll follow him out.

No, but if we wanted to, we could! I love Freebirds...I eat at least 4 times a week (I eat there when I work there)

Seems like a late dinner but I'll go. Been wanting to try that place anyway. I hope the weather is fine. There's plenty of parking in the area so we could all hang out outside after getting stuffed with fart-inducing food.

I've been wanting to try it out. But 20/Hulen is a little bit of a drive for me. Maybe I'll be able to venture out there next time. :D

Oh yea. There's plenty of parking in the area. Whoever gets there first, park a little away from the building, out in the open. So we can all line up our Mustangs next to each other. It looks bad ass that way. Might even be able to take a few night photos with the parking lot lights.

I will definitely be there first tonight (I work there from 5pm to 8pm). I'll be a white 98 gt convertible...park next to me!

www.freebirds.com has a menu. The steak is good, and the cayenne tortilla is good. Other than that, you're on your own :D Are you coming tonight prephead?

Yea. I'm looking at the menu online. I was hoping to hear everyone's favorite items to order and why.

Regular on cayenne, rice, mixed cheese, refried beans, steak, mild, hot, bbq, death, habinero, lime juice, queso, extra cheese, some salantro, some roasted garlic and roll it up.

Regular? Is that the Freebird? As in 1/2 Freebird, Freebird, Monster, Super Monster.
Chicken, Steak or Veggie? And this is the base burrito?
Then you add all sorts of fixins from there?

It goes in a nice little order. First select your item (burrito, tacos, bird salad, etc). Let's say you decide a burrito, now you select your size, then your tortilla. Now we ask "Rice and cheese?" and you say yes, we say "Jack or jack and cheddar?", you say "mixed", we say "black, whole pinto, or refried," you say "refrieds," we say "steak or chicken?" you say "steak," (if you say chicken we say "white or dark?") we say "any mild sauce, hot sauce, or bbq sauce?" you say "mild, lime, and bbq," we say "would you like any roasted bell peppers and onions or queso?" you say "both," we say "the queso costs a little extra, is that okay?" you say "yes," we say "anything else?" you say "pico, lettuce," we say "I'll put the lettuce on last, anything else?" you say "onion, salantro, and maybe a little guac," we say "the guac costs a little extra, is that okay?" you say "yes," we say "okay, lettuce and then that's all?" you say "yes," we say "okay, how does that look?" you say "fantastic, I'm ready to eat it!" we say "is that going to be for here or to-go?" you say "for here," we say "alright, let me roll this up and I'll be right back!" you say "okay," (...rolling, rolling, rolling) you say "dang that's huge!" we say "we are the best burritos around," you say "thank you very much Dale," we say "thank you, have a great day sir!"
Get it?

and then?
topless98gt

and then?
And then we write the code on the burrito (RS2 for regular steak with guac, RC1 for regular chicken with sour cream, HV4 for half-bird veggie with queso, MS12(4) [read as "m s one two sub four"] for a monster steak with sour cream, guac, and substituted queso [means you didn't get one of the following: rice, beans, cheese, or if it's a veggie, lettuce]) then the cashier rings you up and asks you if you want a drink, you say yes, then they say "that'll be $7.50" (RS [$6.00] w/ drink [$1.50]) and then you hand him/her a $10 bill, then they say "out of $10" then they say "$2.50 is your change" and then you say (pointing at the little round board with a "trouble" dice bubble on it) "what's this for?" then the cashier says "if you roll 2 backwards F's then you're next burrito is on us!" then you hit the bubble to roll, and you land on 2 backwards F's and I personally jump up and shout "woo-hoo we have a winner!" (chances of winning are 1 in 36) and then you say "sweet, my next burrito is free! I'm coming back tomorrow!" then since this is your first time we say to you "to eat this, stand it upright just like this, then pull the top off, and unwrap the foil as you go down. If you unwrap it all at once, it'll probably fall apart on you," then you say "okay," then you go get your drink at the pepsi machine, then you sit down and start eating. Tomorrow rolls around and you don't feel too well after eating so much yesterday, so you decide that you'll go back again sometime next week. You go back and you use your bird card (the card you got for rolling the 2 backwards F's) and then you get a monster sized burrito and do the same thing all over again.
Get it?

Bwahahaha! That's awesome.
How big are the 1/2, regular, monster and super monster burritos? One of the guys here at work say they are pretty inconsistent.

1/2 is about the size of a red-bull can
Freebird/Regular is a little bigger around than a 12oz coke can, and a little longer
Monster is a little bigger than that...
And the super monster is HUGE. It's a 3-4lbs burrito. One that I got one time was 11" long, 12" circumfrence, and a 4" diameter.
Does that answer your question?

Started last Monday. It's to celebrate our 15 years of being in business...so we're giving away free burritos :-) You going to make it up there tonight TurboTodd?

Man I'm full! And I only had the 1/2 Freebird. That was good place for burritos. It sucks that they close at 9 pm though. Hopefully it will be warmer out next time and we won't freeze in the parking lot.
PS. That's a sweet looking car, halo/horns.

Their passenger headlight was a little mis-aligned. I told them about it on the highway, don't know if they heard me or not.
Anywho, yeah, it was a great gtg. I'm glad you all made it. We do need to do it again sometime...just name the time and place and I'm there!
Btw...halo/horns...indeed a sweet car. Good buy
