How often should you change your routine up so that you don't hit a plateau?
And how much should you change it up? I haven't lost a single pound in over a month. :(

Going from Wendy's to Arby's isn't considered "changing your routine", Tubby!

Are you referring to cardio or weights?

Simple. Change it when you feel like you'e hit a plateau. There's no right or wrong answer here. You can change your whole plan if you want, this way it'll be new to your body.

I should change it up more often, but I usually change it up every 6 months or so.

If your eating is on track, maybe your cardio is all wrong. If your cardio is on maybe your eating is all wrong???? I need a sample of your routine and eating habits for the week to give any good advice.

I run (3-5 miles) or do the EFX every morning for 40-60 minutes. I do weights (well sorta ;) ) 4 nights a week. I usually do squats, lunges, a few arm things, abs, and butt. I try not to do the machines because I don't want to get bulky.

I have gained muscle and lost fat, but my actual weight isn't going anywhere and I'd still like to lose a few pounds.

Oh - and I stay between 1400-1600 cals a day.

First thing I'd do is break up that cardio into (2) 20-30 minute sessions. One in the morning and one in the evening. I think you should up the cals a couple hundred....what kinda of calories are they? Good or bad?

I do some cardio at night too. Usually only about 15 minutes, just to warm up.

They are good calories - oatmeal for breakfast, lots of fruit/veggies, boca burgers and nuts. I drink coffee in the AM and water the rest of the day.

Exactly. If you're just trying to lose weight, stop lifting.

No, don't break up your cardio, your on target with that. Keep it around 40-50 minutes. And I would suggest cardio after your weights. Cals sound good as well. I think you have answered your own question about losing the weight. Getting in shape and staying in shape should not be centered around how much a person weighs, if you do that you have set yourself up for failure.

Do you feel better than you did 6 months ago, do you have more energy?

Unless you have unnaturally high testosterone levels for a woman you won't get "bulky".
