Some dodge Gtx Single cab truck just left me so far behind.............it was embarrassing. Is this the 345 hp hemi? If it is...........damn that thing runs.

This was in my 04 crew cab btw. ;)

Either way it ran good

not to be mean but I have a 04 Dodge with a Hemi and it can run. all I got done is flowmaster muffler with turn downs and that alone made a difference.

I'd be game, I'm sure I wouldn't be the fastest but I'd have fun.

I think we also tried having a day at the track or something, but no one could find a weekend off:(

Say what you will about the hemi's...............They now have my respect. They run good........Now a single cab against a crew cab is not exactly fair, but by the amount he was pulling me, He would be running at least low 9's (9.1's-9.2's) providing he could launch good. We were at a 30 mph roll when we got into it.

Then that was a nicely modified Hemi you ran. It takes some stuff to make a Single Cab Hemi run low 9s, it's not doing it stock. I know a couple of guys with programmers, intake, exhaust, 3.92 gears, etc. The best run out of all is a 9.08. I'm sure if they worked on their launches maybe it could break 8s. But it ain't gonna get a low 9 stock.

BRING IT WOMAN!! :D :D

We should all really meet up sometime. Maybe we can get Speedworks (the one in lewisville, whatever its called) to do a truck dyno day. They ahve the adapter for diesels. I bet if you want to set something up with Mikes Exclusive Customs he will do a dyno day for us. Hes a cool guy. I will stop by and talk to him sometime. The adapter for a diesel on a dynojet is $300. My truck should dyno right at 405hp to the wheels and god only knows the torque. My guess is 650tq. It would be fun. I will try and stop by there tomorrow.

not sure about the 24v programmers, but I've got to assume they extend the fueling range... just because your truck revs to 3500rpm or whatever doesn't mean it's giving a lot of fuel up there...

extending the rev range makes a HUGE difference in drivability... never mind the extra fuel across the board ;)

but yeah, a manual tranny is a serious disadvantage at the strip... :(

Like I was saying, the gears are so close to each other that you are constantly shifting anyway....if they had wider ratio splits with a second overdrive?!!!

The big problem is I have yet to find a way to shift this thing any faster.... There is just a TON of mass in there to shift around and the added power would just make the shifting come faster......over all quicker but hell....it's a truck for cryin' out loud!! ;)

did your readout show rpm or mph?

dynoing a manual tranny is easier than an automatic... w/ the auto, you want it to be in lockup and you want it in the highest gear possible... I'll admit I don't know what the trick is... I'd assume you want to kinda roll into the throttle to keep it from downshifting to D.

as long as he can give me a readout showing RPM, I'm down! :D

He was talking about buying the optical thing for diesels last time I talked to him. If we can get enough diesels up there for him to make it worth it, he said he would buy it. Im gonna talk to him tomorrow about it. I dyno'd my truck in 3rd and kept it out of auto and only dyno'd at 205 at the wheels on the first run in 3rd. Most otehr guys with 3rd gens are doing 265 at the wheels. Supposedly if you stay in gear and lockup the converter at 50mph then slow down to around 40 the roll onto the gas to get full boost. Dunno, we will have to wait and see

no, no, no... the optical readout measures RPM instead of the standard spark plug wire method. This is the only way to measure RPM on newer diesels. Its $300 from Dynojet for him to buy. like I said, I'd really like an RPM readout vs. MPH...

what's wrong w/ Speedworks? I'd obviously rather give money/business to a nice guy, but I'd also rather know exactly what my engine's doing at what RPM...

Forrest

Forrest,

I will talk to Mike tomorrow and see what he says. if its not possible, I will try and setup Speedworks. The optical reader is the same thing that Speedworks uses.

We can find that out. :D

I can go ahead and answer that... you'd rape me out of the hole, and that'd be the end of it :(

it'd be interesting from a roll though! :D

Dyno = count me in with the proper optical readout.....

Mine is easy with the 6 spd.....stick in 5th at around 900 and push right foot to floor.

I like the idea of flashing for a day but it will just peak my interest to get one. IF and when I do one it will be the edge unit with the digital guage readouts...ONLY when it is proven not to blow up the stock turbo. I am really holding out to not mod the truck since I would be spending mod money on TWO vehicles.... :(

A little dyno time though wouldn't hurt.

The Edge Attitude A2 has monitors that will shut itself down when temps and boost get to high.

if I had the $2500 for a dual disk setup, I'd sell my complete 5sp setup and go automatic... :(

my little $800 clutch is holding for now... gonna have to drop $1k for a new clutch when the twins go in :(
