I knew what times he ran @ Redline because I was in the Tower. Gran86, Orange-S10, and many others can vouch for him on his low 7 passes. My 7.63 @ 89.78 in the 1/8 was a 11.97 @ 115.31 in the 1/4. So....I am sure he had more then a 11.7 or 11.8 in it. :cool:

Thanks for your response as well, but 12 years ago that is what was still roaming the earth. And to take a 3950lb w/ driver 72 camaro and run low 11's on street tires and full exhaust w/o any power adders was something at that time. We did however bolt a set of slicks on and change convertors and went 10.40's with same combo. As for the street driven truck in the 10's in the 70's, that must have been something to see. I will have to look in some of my old Hotrod Mags to find a picture since I'm sure it was in there as well. :cool:

The only available "power adder" back then was an 8-71, and aluminum heads were unheard of. Hell, even having a 12 second street car was pretty quick.

Since I am a kiddie trooper I don't care about 12 years ago. Don't care about a '72 Camaro. Don't care about a 10 second truck. Don't care about your accomplishments and certianly don't give two tinkers fucks about Hotrod magazine!


To some degree the kiddo is right; it's a new era and what you ran last weekend is the only thing that is relevant. What you did 20 years ago no one cares about.

The kiddo's lack of respect for us old guys and the limited crap we had to work with back then is kind of annoying though :mad: ;) Going fast is a lot easier now than it was 25 years ago; there are so many more parts and so much new technology available now. Kids run 11's now and think nothing of it. It used to be a lot harder to do that :(

I too whish you luck if there ever comes a time you are brave enough to strap on the gloves, strip a few more items off your car and try for a legitimate 11 sec. N/A slip on a flat track.

One thing we did learn was that weight is alot cheaper than HP. The car now @ 3370 and a glide is much faster and still N/A.... :rolleyes:

Hey Bill what times do you plan on running at Ennis on the 25th???? I know you ran some nice 11.69's at Hallsville so whats up for Ennis.. Do you think it will be close to the same or a little higher since the track at Ennis is at higher elevation... :D I'm just hopping to break into the 11's which I think will not be too big of a problem...

Well I hope so with all those extra mods that you got that I don't... But you know if you don't I am going to be talking some mad shit.. HAHAHAHA I'm just looking to be the first N/A mach with 100% stock suspension to hit the 11's, once I do that its going to be on.... I'll be starting my new project.... It should be done in about a year... Then I'll be going after some very low 11's if not 10's... :D

It is good to be me. You see, I don't have to rely on a hugeass picture of a crickety junk pile doing a burnout in my signature as a cry for recognition. I don't have to extend my ego using a crickety crackass junkpile to come up with such faggotyass terms such as "... school is now in session.." When I do hijack a post at least I stay within the content of what the original subject matter is about instead of going off on some stupidass tangent about how wonderful and great I am because of my fabricated accomplishements I lied about from a hundred years ago.
