The Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim civil liberties group, called on the Pentagon to discipline Mattis for the remarks.

If you are going to send them to war I'd rather have someone in there that thinks its fun to kill people than someone who says, "Damn, I just killed that person. I better be more careful next time."

If he is disciplined, I hope it is by way of an 8 hour course on effective media relations and then let him get back to the job he is trained for.

We want people like him leading our troops into battle, that is for sure. Personally his comments don't bother me, but being a media spokesman for my agency, you do have to keep your comments within some acceptable parameters.
