My computer keeps telling me that my virtual memory is low. I have done disk clean up and disk defrag. What else can be done?

Reboot alot, stop some programs from loading on startup, or buy more physical memory.

Make sure your memory is freed up as much as possible. Make sure nothing is running in the lower right corner in the system tray that is not needed. Check your startup folders to see what is loading on bootup. You can use MSCONFIG from the RUN command and see what is loading at startup. You can uncheck anything that isn't necessary.

I would suggest using Services instead, especially if one is unsure what they are doing.
Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
