Ok, here's the situation, my computer is about 2 1/2 years old and is running the old PC2100 DDR ram. I've got 512mb (2 slots, so 2x256mb) in there now and would like to stick in a minimum of 1Gb total. I could either, buy 1 stick of 1Gb and keep one of the 256's getting me up to 1280mb (cost around $170 for the one stick), buy 2 512mb sticks totalling 1024mb (cost around $130) or just wait, buy an new computer in the next 6-9 months and go from there.

My computer also needs a new graphics card so i'm adding that in towards just buying a new computer.

BTW, the current Mobo can handle 2Gb

So what do ya'll think?

Computer is intel mobo D845BG, with 2Ghz CPU, old school 64mb graphics card, 80Gb WestDig HD, 100mhz FSB (I think) not much more to list (normal USB, ethernet, etc... integrated into mobo)
