It is a chinese SKS with the chrome barrel, very clean gun I have only fired it 2 times since I have owned it.....don't really trust myself with an assault rifle so I figured I might as well sell it or trade it for a .22 pistol...make offers

LOL make it $200 and you can come get it.....It is a clean gun, not beat up and scratched up like most of the ones I have seen....My dad is a deputy sheriff/gun dealer gave it to me for chrismas, said I could sell it or keep it....I have too bad of a temper and I almost used it the other night (guy dissapeared before I was able to get it) so I think it is best I sell it, I need to buy more car parts anyway :D

Like I said I am open to offers, I just threw $200 out there, I have a person interested for $200 but like I told him, it is first come first serve.....I have been burned too many times by holding stuff for people

I've killed many an animal with a 7.62 round. Whether it be x39 or x51

my mother is dead, and it wasn't from a shitty assault rifle round either.
red, you kill em for food with a 7.62 x 39, or just varmint hunting?

Thanks for the Rifle Tad.
First of all everyone, the SKS is not an assault rifle. It is just a semi-automatic carbine. It doesn't fit anyone's definition of an assault weapon, except for maybe the Socialist Republic of Kalifornia.
Sencond, man this thing is dirty as crap. Not just the carbon fouling but this thing is full of cosmoline. I ran my fingers through the gun and got what is in the pictures.
The firing pin barely moves in the bolt. That means the bolt is full of cosmoline. That is a dangerous condition. If the pin becomes stuck in the forward position, the rifle will slam fire. That is due to the firing pin sticking out and hitting the cartrige as it loads it in the chamber. That will result in uncontrolled firing of all rounds in the mag, even without pulling the trigger.
I am going to strip the wood and take it back to a natural color too.
But thanks! :D It will be nice next to my Yugoslavian SKS 59/66.

hey not a problem...like I said I have only shot it 2 times...never had a problem with it, and I am not that into guns so I never stripped it down and cleaned it, or it would have been done. I just got it, and put it in my closet I told you all I knew about it

Not a problem. I am just talking out loud too everyone. Most people think gun safety deals with pointing it in the right direction, but cleaning and maintaining a weapon, is not only better reliability but so the user doesn't get injured too. I was in the military. I am anal about handling and using weapons.
BTW, don't hand a person a loaded weapon. ;)

You would probably wanna stay away from our regularly shot guns. We have an FAL we call "Ole Dirty" 3500+ rds and hasn't been cleaned, except for the time I left it out in the rain.

You had the slam fire problem I was talking about. I had the ammo in my pocket this morning, that you had loaded in the rifle. Look at the primers, you can see where the firing pin was hitting when you let the bolt slam home a round. You are lucky you didn't shoot someone while you were playing with the rifle. 4 of the tens rounds show this.

Yep, you just saw and posted before me. nothing but jealousy here. Should be a nice addition and look good in natural color.
I just wanted something to go with my evil black "assault" rifle. Although it has not assaulted anyone yet.... I'm still waiting

www.militarygunsupply.com on the east side on 820, had Yugo 59/66s and 59s.
There is always someone at the gun shows with a crate of new Yugo SKSs for sale for under $200. I've seen them for as low as $100 before brand new with a bayonet but they weren't cleaned up, I guess they wipe grease on them or something to stop rust? At the last one I went to they were $159 plus tax with no ammo.
Plenty of AR-15s in the under $750 range, several AKs and Mak90s as well but they were closer to $300. I'm still waiting for a Steyr Aug to show up in the price range of an AR, only one I've ever seen at a show was $2500!!!
Would you be interested in trading for a Ruger 10/22 w/25rd magazine & scope, or a remington 514 .22 w/scope?

I wasn't "playing" with the rifle...the only time I had rounds in the chamber was if there was a problem (only once), or I was about to shoot it....Your definition of "loaded" is a bit different than mine, on any gun I have even owned I have ALWAYS kept rounds in the clip, just none in the chamber.....I can see you making a point if there was one in the chamber tho!

If you consider loading a round in the chamber (four of them) without intending to shoot it, the normal operational mode, then I am sorry.
Carry on.

i have a yugo sks that did the slam fire shoot. it scared the shit out of me and i didnt have a clue what caused it. after that the gun was taking to a dealer and inspected then i brought it home and did a total disasemble on it and re-cleaned it. it works great now but still leary on loading on in the chaamber because that accident is still in the back of my head.

Here you go, return spring mod to the firing pin. Good as the original Russian SKS.
