I rode my cousins 04 yesterday. It had stock cans with race baffles in it. Talk about sound good. Oh yeah it was pretty quick too. :)

It's funny but I don't remember your super fast 04R1 being able to reel in my old R1 and StaticXs even older R1. ;)

I do, i remember starting out 75 feet behind you and letting out because i kept getting closer and closer...
plus, my "slow" r1 is hauling around 150 extra lbs.

How much do you weigh, Adam? How much do you think I weigh?
ELVIS

adam, i did not realize the 04's were heavier than the older models :D . you need to cut some weight on the r1, make it a single exhaust, pull the fairings off remove the valve stem covers, maybe helium in the tires, remove the kickstand then to store just flip it over like an old bmx bike. :D
god bless.

I could've sworn those new fangled R1s were lighter and had more HP than the old worthless, slow R1s.
I weigh 200lbs myself. Much more in gear.

JC, last time on a scale i weighed 330lbs.
the new R1 is "379" lbs dry, but street weight is about 410+, which is still lighter than the old ones, Paul is just clowning.

Adam, have you dynoed your bike yet?
Here are some basic stuff I calculated.
Your stats
Dry(379lbs) You (330lbs) HP (159)= .2242hp/lb ratio
Mine
Dry(385lbs) Me (200lbs) HP(131)= .2239hp/lb ratio

most of the time, your body style R1 puts down 135ish,
mine put down a measly 152.

If that's the case then I have more hp/wt than you. But who knows how your "ram-air" helps you.
In any case. Who really cares? ;) They're both fast enough.
Mine is just fastER. ;) :p

ahhh yeah remember that, good times. Trust me I don't adam was catching up, I think it was more along the lines of me letting of the throttle then gunning again since I didn't know what that minivan was going to do way ahead of me

Speaking of your bike. Do you know what all has been done to the motor and how much you put down?

From what the sales guy told me.....all that was done to it was pipe, air filter and programming. But I really don't know what was done since I do seem to remember also that he said it was heavly modified. I'm assuming I put down alittle more than 140rwhp...I should get it dynoed before I sale it to my friend

It has a full exhaust, right? Can a carb bike get programming?
Also, WHAT?! Why are you selling and what are you getting in it's stead?

I think you're thinking about the 02-03s. They put down, stock, around 135. Mine is an 01 but, they guy I bought it from said it put down 131. I guess that slip-on helped some. I don't know what else is done to it. I think just the pipe.

My 02 R1 put down 133RWHP with a slip-on. She runs 141MPH traps in the quarter. I had it mapped and it was 140RWHP before the Power Programmer took a dump.
You can only adjust the carbs on the non FI models that I am aware of.
My ZX10R put down 157RWHP with just a slip on. Just to give you all some numbers. The last 04 R1 I saw dyno put down 149RWHP with a slip on the same day I dyno'd my bike.
Plus I have a slight weight mod being only 125-130lbs.

oops meant tunning of the carbs....It might even have performance carbs I'm not sure, have not touched it to checkout everything it has since I'm selling it......So far I'm stuck between a ZX-10 or a new R1

I like the gixxers but they seem to big for me were as the R1's feel slim which I like. I'm swaying more towards the new R1.....either blue or adams color

You need to get your bike rejetted
FI bikes get a new MAP that is all the programmer does is upload a new map to the computer

I'm sure that I do. That's on a long list of things I need to get done. But next week, I'm getting the titled transfered to Texas from OK. Any idea how much that'll cost? So I'm saving my money for the taxes and stupid fees.
I wanna get my tranny fixed.
Get my suspension set up
Get the bike dynoed and tuned (whatever that entails)
