I got a 1980 suzuki drag bike I bought off the board about a year ago. Its a project for sure. It's got welded extended swing arm, mini slick, solo seat, ported head, larger carbs, drag pipes. My question is if I finish it and put some money in will it be a waste of time? Cause it still may only run 7's in the 1/8. Finish it or forget it?

Keep it!!
Buy a motor from a late 90's fuel injected GSXR 750 with the computer and wiring harness, add some juice and run some mid 5's!! Ultimate project bike with serious ptential.

I ride a 1980 Suzuki dragbike.
It runs in the 4's with a tiny shot of n2o.
The modern bikes are great but you can make that old one just as fast.
Or you can sell it to me....

trade it to me for my 67' mustang coupe w/289 :D
Well,
I knew this bike when Matt had it. It runs really strong for an old two valve motor.
This would make a fairly quick first dragbike for someone who is just getting started. With very little money, you could run some decent 6.xx times.
