I'm getting a new bike, and I was wondering what everyone uses. I was kinda curious if they had a lo-jack kinda setup for bikes. I've had a dirtbike and a trailer stolen from my house, so I would plan on any bike of mine being at high risk and any advice would be appreciated.

sportbikes are at very high risk of being stolen. and just because you have lo-jac doesnt mean your going to get your bike back. in most cases after a bike is stolen its in peices 12 hours later. the first thing to do is have theft under your insurance policy.

as for just storing it, a garage is your best bet. plus disc locks, the handle bar lock, and i also have an alarm on the bike that is very loud. if you dont have a garage i have a friend that uses 3 kryptonite (sp) chains to keep his bike locked to a poll out side his appartment, and his hasent been stolen. (1 attempt, but the theif gave up)

I build custom Harleys but work on everything. I have business partner and I that is getting in to GPS alarm systems for motorcycles and the will track you bike. The cool thing is when we install the alarm and your bike is parked if someone moves or triggers the system it will call your cell phone and it will start tracking. If anyone is interested send me a PM for more details. Plus we are getting in to GPS Nav for plotting roadtrips.

i have heard of people having the GPS on their bike. they showed me how it worked on day and i was amazed at how quickly it starting call his cell phone and it continued until he answered. I would recommend getting one put on your bike.
