I don't understand the thing with people saying we shouldn't be fighting this war right now. All of my fellow Marines, and the Army soldiers, Airforce, and Navy members signed up to do a duty. What that duty comes down to is to protect the citizens of the united states. Not saying that you don't appreciate what they are doing, but when you say that we shouldn't be there, it makes it seem like you think they are just useless, and you don't appreciate them. What they are doing is their duty, to serve and protect the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. How do you justify the way you disrespect those whose loved ones died. Show respect and some appreciation for what they are doing for us.

Nice...couldn't have said it better myself. It seems funny to me how the ones that SAY they support our troops the most by wanting them out of there are the ones that complain, murmur, and argue on and on about the war in the first place...

A lot of the opposition I've heard about the US's role in Iraq was mainly about the decision-makers, not the troops themselves. I'm sure there are others out there. Maybe it's just that they really don't want to directly say it to someone out here.

I think you are likely right about that...:)

That's it. While I may not agree with how certain things have been conducted over there, I wholly support the troops. They are bravely, dependably, and incredibly doing their job.

I too support our troops and the reasoning for going to war in Iraq. What I don't support is the rediculous premise of having politicians tryning to manage the war... Screw that... Politicians get us into wars, we have a very fine military management structure to execute the the necessary functions to win the war.

but somehow, we seem to have hamstruck our troops with these crazy "PC" rules of engagement... wtf? War is War, and War is Hell... Lives will be lost, but let's minimize our losses by fighting the battles on our military's terms... not on some lame premise to give the rest of the World some warm and fuzzy feeling.

Does that make sense?

Once again I find myself in agreement with Denny.

While there are bastards out there that ARE being very disrespectful of the troops, the vast majority of people that are against this war are not against the troops, they just want them to be home. They have a problem with the Administration and their policies. IMO, that is a legit gripe and it is not only their right to express it but their responsibility. Without naysayers, this administration might be a bit too uninhibited.

I agree. I support the troops and the military 100%. The part I question is the decision makers and the way some things have been handled by the government.
I think some lump the people who do not fully agree with these "decision makers" into the same category as those who do not like the military. That infuriates me as much as the people who do not support the military do.
