View Full Version : Well how did the TTT5 tire vote go?

11.5's or 12.5's next year?
11.5's or 12.5's next year?
Believe it or not, not a single person voted for the 12.5 DOT tire. The nails are in the coffin and the tire issue is dead forever!

For True Street only.
We are sticking with 11.5s
These are just my words and understanding look for the rules update on the TTT5 board soon.
A BB aftermarket blocked car will weigh 3500lbs or more
A BB Factory blocked car will weigh 3400lbs or more
A SB Aftermarket motor will weigh 3200lbs or more
A factory blocked motor car can weigh 3100lbs or more
You can only have one NOS pressurized bottle in the car.
That is pretty much it for true street.

Close E,
Here is how it is gonna read:
A BB aftermarket, BB bowtie, and Gen VI blocked car will weigh 3500lbs or more
A OEM 454/427/396 Factory blocked car will weigh 3400lbs or more
A SB Aftermarket motor will weigh 3200lbs or more
An OEM small block nitrous motor car can weigh 3100lbs or more
An OEM small block turbo/supercharger motor car can weigh 3300lbs or more
I rebooted my PC at home and forgot to turn on my firewall and got a worm on it. I've got to restore the machine and then I will be able to upload everything to our website.

We were going to make forced induction cars weigh 3400 across the board. But after some debate, we decided to let the OEM block FI cars run at 3300. An aftermarket block can handle all the power a 76 MM can produce, but according to Josh and Brooks their Windsor blocks can't handle it. Since the aftermarket small block with a 76 MM can make the same power as an OEM big block with a 4150 carb and plate, then the aftermarket FI aftermarket small block will weigh the same as the OEM n2o BB. Everyone agreed that was fair.

You guys would agree for sure if you saw the mains in my old block from last season. The bearings themselves were perfect but the caps and block showed signs of heavy movement (walking). It was 2 years old - so maybe it can make it for a season of serious beating :D

Most of the time the chattering on those mains is caused by detonation. Do you pull timing out on a turbo like on a nitrous motor?

Unc
Yeah.. I had it as low as 20* and as high as 24*. That is at peak power. Down low the timing is 28-32* depending on track conditions etc. Part of the problem could have been that it was kinda high on the compression @ 9:1. I guess we'll see next season.

"Blue Boy Roy" Spencer, "Just-in-Time" Justin Eggemyer and I think "Alcohol Paul" Polizzo runs an OEM nitrous small block. I'm not sure what "Scarry Barry" Williams runs and I'm not sure what Duane Thomas runs either. Me, I run a lazy o slow big block! LOL

My guess is Roy is gonna get that 100 off, or real close to it anyway and it's gonna come off the front of the car. Disc brakes and a rack will knock off about 90 lbs. Plus he has some real heavy front seats in the car. He may add it back if he needs to depending on track conditions but it will be where he wants it, right in the ass end of the car. Plus he can't use his hidden VHT sprayer anymore.......... LOL :p

bird shot is cheap. take a 2"x3" square tube, weld the ends shut, cut a hole fill it, and bolt it down with 1/2" bolts. I can fab you up somthing for a fee. :D I can make a 160lbs rear bumper that will be removable that will just replace the factory piece.

The chassis is pretty much done. Have a wolfe cage and through the floors in it already. I just picked up a parachute mount today from Wolfe so I can get it in then add the weight to it. I might PM you sometime and get you to make me up some of those "ballist". :D I am not sure how the car will react with 160lb's more in the bumper. It left real nice before, wheels maybe off the ground 2-4 inches but it would squeel the tires hard though so we'll see I guess. I am just hopeing that much weight in the bumper and a little more power will not make it do a Andrew wheely and cause more problems. Once I get the motor back together and in it I need to get the front and rear biase correct so that would be a good time to have the ballist made.

If you know it is going to be a real close race that could go either way, you better cut a .420 to .440 light. If not, you are sucking the hind tit!
Most of the good ones cut consistent .460 lights.
