Wtf I Cant Burn Cd's

ok its really F**kin pissing me off, i have never ran into this issue. Ok i start up nero 5.5.9.0. , and im trying to burn a data disc to hold more mp3 songs so i can play in my vehicle. Well the problem is after i set up all my songs and shit, i go to file->write cd. then a box pops up saying burn, thats it i cant choose my write speed and another option, i left it on burn(the only option i can choose) then hit next and then a nother box pops up saying save as nrg file or as iso. and then it just burns it to the hd, why the F**k is it not just burning all my songs TO the cd.
i have changed cd's numerous of times and i even tried burning after i save the file and it doesnt even go to the cd or nothing. just to my HD. why is it doing this?
can someone help me figure this one out.

If it worked fine before, have you played a copy protected CD in your CD player with the autorun turned on?

Also make sure the drive selection isn't on Image Recorder:

This is Nero 6 so it's probably different in 5. But you should be able to choose which recorder to use still.

yeah i know i tried to see if i can change my drive selection but it wasnt showing, but after many hours of fkn abusing nero :D and all the settings i did something and it detected my cd rom and i got it working thanks guy for your input though. really appreciate it!
