Kinda.

Tonight was the first night I have been back to the track since I decided to put my truck back to pretty much stock, so I can sell it. (Dynatech Long Tube Headers, High Flow Cats, Exhaust, NGK Plugs, Metco Traction Bars, and Predator with Custom Tune are the only mods, stock air box/filter, pulley, Goodyear Tires etc...)

Previous best with current mods plus 6# lower pulley, Carbon Fibre MAF, and 12" Powerstack Filter in 98° Temp. was:

1.98 60'
8.34 1/8 ET
87.13 1/8 MPH
12.946 1/4 ET
107.7 1/4 MPH

Due to oil downs, and flying hoods etc.. I only got 2 passes in.

My first pass was at 10:04 PM, this was about 1/2 hour after getting to the track, Temp was 68°. I was expecting to run in the 14's, so I dialed in at a wishfull 13.50. I do my quick dry burnout and bring the revs up on the Converter and walk into the throttle and run:

2.04 60'
8.47 1/8 ET
85.92 1/8 MPH
13.17 1/4 ET
105.38 1/4 MPH

I was very happy with the pass, and was thinking hey I can get this bad boy in the 12's with the Stock Pulley.

For my second and final pass at 11:40 PM and the Temp at 64°, I decided to go for broke, so I popped off the Air Box and pulled out the well used stock paper air filter, knowing this was going to lean the truck out some I added 4% fuel in with the Predator and pull out 2% timing because it's getting colder out, I also dropped my dial in to 13.10. I do my regular burnout and stage, once the tree drops I run:

1.89 60' (New Best)
8.33 1/8 ET (New Best)
84.01 1/8 MPH
13.05 1/4 ET
104.32 1/4 MPH

After the run was over I thought it felt like crap and thought it slowed down quite a bit, I was amazed when my buddy DC'd me with what it ran.

I am going to take it back to the track tomorrow night for Midnight Madness and see if I can break her into the 12's :)

Back in March, I've always wanted one and found one for a good deal so I figured why not. They are really fun trucks, but it is still a truck, I miss having a fun car, so I'm going to sell the Lightning and get an 04 Cobra or maybe an 05 Mustang.

Hahaha, it's a 93 dammit :) It's kinda hard to work on her when she is 900 miles away :( I have it pretty much ready to run, except for deciding which engine I want to put in it, I have the 377 still, and a nice little 4.6 that is almost finished. I'm not doing a drag car anymore, so I will prolly end up with the 4.6 in it with a little boost (~10 - 12#) I should be able to make 550 rw pretty easily with it, but that project is a little ways off still.

Went back to the track last night for another chance at the 12's. Unfortunately it didn't happen. My first 2 runs were with the same setup as the night before. The track wasn't working as good as the night before, and 12's weren't going to happen on stock radials. So I decided to do a couple experiments. All passes were done at a Temp. of 64°.

First pass of the experiment I decide to put the truck back to the stock program for a good baseline. The results were:

2.14 60'
8.76 1/8 ET
83.11 1/8 MPH
13.61 1/4 ET
100.59 1/4 MPH

I had a bit of wheelhop off the line, so this hurt the 60' which of course hurt the rest of the pass. Overall I was pretty impressed with the results, and think with more time I could prolly get this combo in the 13.40's.

Second pass, I install the Performance Tune from the Predator with no other modifications.

2.08 60'
8.58 1/8 ET
83.23 1/8 MPH
13.32 1/4 ET
104.19 1/4 MPH

This launch was much better than the previous and I didn't get any wheelhop, but the track still wasn't working as good with street tires as the night before. The 1/4 MPH improved quite a bit over the stock program indicating a nice increase in HP.

Last pass, I installed my Custom Tune into the Predator, and flashed it into the truck.

2.01 60'
8.42 1/8 ET
84.53 1/8 MPH
13.11 1/4 ET
105.17 1/4 MPH

Amazingly even though it was 1:00 AM, the track was starting to work alot better with Radials. Too bad I couldn't get another pass in, ohh well looks like I'll try again when we get back from PRI.
