For you hunters out there, I have a friend saying that he has seen some hunters with mini diablos as pets roaming around with them, he is playing a necro and a tauran right now, but he wants to know how/why the pet?

I'm currently not in the game, but hope to be soon as of christmas or so. I usually don't have time for these kind of games, but damn I'm thinking I can get into it and MAKE time :D

The mini diablo/zergling/panda cub is only available to you if you bought the big pack of WC games for like $90. They don't fight or anything...yet, but I bet at a certain level they turn into a usable pet.

Hit lvl 26 today...there is another DFWstanger on the server I play on (although I forget what he goes by on here).

Thanks exlude, I actually found that out a little while ago when I was looking on blizzards website. I wouldn't mind buying the collector's edition now, but I'm seeing on ebay that everyone is trying to get an insane amount of money for them (all the buy it now's are around $150-160  ), so I guess that's not going to happen.

I got to get this soon. Would the lag be bad on a DSL connection?

It's not too bad. I average about 100ms latency on a fairly populated server. I have gone as low as about 45 and as high as about 250. I'm on cable though.

i don't want to get it if it's going to lag all the time with dsl

Even with 200ms lag, the netcode is written well enough to perform like its at 30ms. Blizzard's netcoding has always been topnotch. I know several people who are playing on dial up. You will not have a problem with DSL.

I play it on DSL at both my work and at home and it runs extremely smooth. I usually average about 150ms latency.

just started a tauren warrior lvl 9 on thunderhorn??? in central time, had to give up my lvl 16 shaman on archimonde since a lot of my friends ended up on this other server and want to play with them... BTW you're not going to lag with DSL, any high speed will be fine, but a gig of ram will bake a big difference!!

Kaji

looks like I need to buy 512 more ram then

1-10 pretty quick just killing and exploring, 10-15 fairly fast doing solo quests, 15-20 starts to slow down some and will need to do group quests, 20 and up starts to take some time and the quests get really tough. After lvl 20 alot of your quests will start sending you to PvP areas (if you choose a PvP server) so it starts to become alot of fun. I am currently a lvl 24 Shaman and I am having blast PvPing while trying to do quests.

The thing I like most about this game is the lack of time sinks. I have a lot less time to devote to games like this now with a new job, and WoW is definitely made for people to be able to just get in, do something, and log out in a short amount of time. Definitely not so with FFXI ... if you want to do anything better plan to devote at least 3 hours to the game.

And duels are awesome when you aren't lagging 10+ seconds, and can't make any actions against a certain cheating druid :D I'm gonna be getting broadband again, now that I've got a new job. The game runs fine, even on dial-up... just doesn't run so well when you got stuff downloading on soulseek or bittorent in the background taking up all your (minimal) bandwidth... hence the 10+ second lag :D
