Shit yes... I will definately have my bike by then.

Ive tried to get ScottJ to think about this trip, but he may be right; it may be to far to ride to.

... and me being stubborn, I dont like the idea of "trailoring" my bike to ride the gap. I'd rather ride the whole way, have some fun, and trip on the way back.

lol, i hope your bike has a more comfy seat than mine, because i wouldn't be able to lay in bed, much less do any spirited riding if i put 1000 miles on my bike in a day or two.

When ScottJ and I rode to Galveston we pulled some manuevers that made it more comfy. We would sit on the tanks, put our feet back on the passenger pegs and stand up on the foot pegs to stretch out. We did make a few stops.

Plus it helps when you're hauling ass and chasing girls in red camaros... <- I just remembered that. LOL

shit, i've stood up on the pegs, but no way in hell, i'm putting my feet on the back footpegs, they're like 6 inches below/behind the seat, my 6'4" ass doesn't bend that way.

Damn, you're tall... Geezus... Ya, that wouldnt be comfy at all. Your knees would hit the pavement. LOL, at least you'll get your knee down... *kidding

ThreeFingerPete

I'm in! If given enough notice and time I'd make the trip. Might have to talk my cousin into driving my truck up there as a chase vehicle though :D

and check it out, it says many people have died riding this. you guys might want to pick and choose who you take on a trip like this. my advice would be to take a few more local road trips and let everyone get a little more experience with the twisties. based on the way a lot of people in this forum talk, it seems that a lot of the riders here are way more concerned with going hella fast in a straight line than wearing out the chicken strips on their tires. it would suck a lot to go ride the dragon with 15 guys and return to texas with 13 or 14. just my opinion. however, it does look fun as hell. i have a friend who went up there to ride it (trailered up), but when they got there, it was raining. wisely, he and his crew decided not to test it. for you busa fans, here is some good news. his brother drives a busa ('01 i think), and smokes us ALL in the twisties. my friend has a zx-9r, i have a zx-7r, my roommate has a ducati 750ss, and none of us can hang with the busa through the turns. so it IS possible to take a gsx-r1300 off the track and straight roads and onto the fun ones. here is the link to the dragon website:

now, a fun road that is a lot closer and more doable would be the talimena scenic drive in oklahoma and arkansas. it is a nice day trip. if you guys remember, i posted up about this last month. but as it is in the hills of oklahoma, i think it would be way too fucking cold now. here is the link to this site:

so, anyway, whats up with a road trip soon ? i want to ride with you guys. i ain't scared of you motherfuckers.

I'd be more interested in a closed road track ala Motorsport Ranch.

sounds good. and it is possible to rent the track for a day. if we had enough interest, we could defray the cost considerably. my roommate races on the cmra circuit, and he is always talking about open track days. this is something that should be discussed. a dfwstangs track day. i'm in...

go to www.ridesmart.com and email the owner, with enough interest he will hold a closed track day...we'd have to invite some peeps from other sites though to get enough people to sign up for it.

you can't, sorry, just not allowed.

that is of course, unless you wanna hear one of the window lickers from that neck of the woods whisper in your ear, "you got a purdy mouth", in which case you can go.

I have had a couple buddies right this road said it was awsome....only prob they say that EVERYONE is riding it and you get some slow people in front of it ..at times it is hard to pass them and you are stuck going the speed limit lo ; ) ....I will no doubt be in ....

From 820 and BeachStreet near 35w the total distance is

Total Est. Time: 15 hours, 15 minutes Total Est. Distance: 936.56 miles
