View Full Version : Go bike to learn on?
I know this sounds dumb, But I have never ridden a bike until I got this Pocket Bike, I want to learn how to ride a bike & eventually get a GSX 750,
But I want to learn on something that is small & cheap & that I don't care if I fuck it up & drop it,!
What is a good bike to learn on to prepare me for my GSX 750! :D

you actually WANT a katana?
i'd look into getting an old honda 600, any of the 250s are good starter bikes, although slow as hell, or a 4 stroke dirt bike would be cool, aswell.

How much are you willing to spend on a bike and how much can you afford to see sliding down the pavement ?
I am wanting to spend about $1200 on my first bike!

Learn on an older dirt bike at first......that will teach you how to go thru the gears and when you eat it, it wont hurt nearly as much.

I weigh about 170lbs. and had a 125 to start.....it hauled much ass, but was easy to learn on. Your price range should get you a great starter dirt bike....you can't go wrong with a Honda.

I've seen a number of Ninja 250's going for around $2K. I think it would be a great starter bike. You can also take the MSF Course and use there bikes and that's a great start to learning as well and if you drop the bike... well it's there bike :D

buy u a 600 and just ride it. its all about being comfortable and knowing what the bike is capable of. the more u ride it the more comfortable u will be. just like a car except on 2 wheels. whatever u get be careful ride like everyone else is out to kill u. dont be stupid on it and wear your gear...:)
