there was a decent turn out tonight, i kinda wish i could have stayed a bit later, but there is always next time. Kinda wish i would have known some people out there too, but i guess thats what G2G's are for.
well i survived without my ass kicking...about 5 punk ass kids did pull up on bikes and didn't bother to come over and say hi...Zack was supposedly slammed in the ass v6 was about 5'7 maybe 140 lbs and didn't even come over to say hi to me...so sad, I skipped studying for my tests to be out there and he doesn't nut up. :rolleyes:

The threats of fighting and the actual street racing that occurred last week are enuff to make me reconsider my Weds. nites. :rolleyes: It's always great to hear that a pretty perfect g2g can get fucked up in under 6 mos.. Good job to those who can't behave like adults.

When I show up with my friends, we'll walk over to everyone and try to kinda jump into conversations. But everyone pretty much ignores us and then turns their backs to us. Tonight was my last appearance at the gtg. I've got better things to do than to just sit around and talk to only the friends I came with. Hell, we can do that back at their place instead of wasting gas and time to go up there.

I'm very sorry to hear that. :( You have a VERY valid point though as I've sat back and seen it happen to new folks over and over - not just here, at ALL g2g's. I'll admit that I, after the first 2 hours of meeting new people, like to kick back w/my longtime friends and b.s.. But there should be no reason then why others can't pick up the slack and step away from their friends to meet the new people. Didn't WE invite them there? It should only take a couple of g2g's before those people are "old friends" w/the group and they can then welcome the new. It used to be a really nice cycle that I see fading faster each day.
I don't care who street races, fights, etc. outside of an organized g2g, but the Irving police have been VERY cool w/us and they gave us the benefit of the doubt by allowing us there each week, Starbuck's too. To behave like this is disrespectful to those people and the hobby. I don't need anyone to agree w/me in the least. :) I just won't come out if that's the direction this g2g is taking because that's not why I started going.

I went out there with Mild last night and I'm getting tired of showing up and nobody even attempting to talk to us. Like he said, we go up and try and talk to the cliques but they don't even pay attention to us. I think that out of the times that we've been out there, GC2, Strongnuff, and one other person (I forgot his name) were the only ones that talked to us and tried to make conversation with us, everyone else just looked at us and turned their back to us. I thought that the idea of going to a G2G was to meet fellow stang enthusiasts and just bs for a while. But if I'm going out there and talking to the same people I go out there with all night long, I might as well stay at home and do that.

I , like Nicolle am sorry that you have been made to feel left out, ( I felt the same thing my first time out to these GTG's) and thats why I try to make an effort to always make all the newcomer's feel welcome when they come out because it is always akward your first time out.
Here lately I have been unable to make it out to the Wed GTG but will start going again soon and hope you do the same! When their is a "good" gtg, its really a great time but unfortunately as it get's bigger,sometimes the bad apple's try to ruin it for everyone, hence the reason it usually only last's 6 months and then we start one somewhere else with the "Core" group. I will shot you a PM the next time I go out to one!
As far as the street racing, hummmmmmmmm, its been covered sooo many times, but let me once again air my opinion about this.. You have a fast car (or think you do) and want to prove it, but THAT IS NOT WHAT THESE GTG'S ARE ABOUT! if you want to race someone, start up/ or go to one of track gtg's and knock yourself out! With the law's in Texas regarding street racing, its a big no no, and the Police keep a very close eye on gtg's like these for that main reason! Why would you want to risk getting a great gtg shut down?
As far as fighting is concerned, I have seen alot of smack talk in my time, but these gtg's are set up for a friendly/laid back way for us to get to know each other and bs without all the drama. When people have their internet confrontations and then "invite" them to come to this gtg to duke it out, then your inviting trouble and instigating the end of the gtg altogether! If you truely enjoy and appreciate these gtg's, you would do Nothing to endanger it!

Well, I was out there and had a good time as usual. I for one am not the most extroverted/outgoing person so I don't usually go up to the people I don't know or recognize (kind of shy). Once I know people i'm pretty talkative though.
