Hey guys,
I'm thinking about getting a couple pairs of gloves, one for warmer days and another for the cold, but would like some opinions on what you guys ride in.
I like the looks of the Icon Hooligans (all black) and Alpinestars GP Plus. They both look to offer good protection and don't look too bulky or obtrusive in any way.
Any help would be great, and here's pics of the gloves I'm looking at...

I'd sport either one, but i'm partial to the icon gloves. Those are pretty pimp looking. They are like mine but without the plating. But both look like a good choice.

but remember DO NOT get mechanix glove b/c if you down your screwed. according to everyone else.
It will only take one time for you to go down on the concrete where you don't have the control you think you have for you to figure out your not safe with a glove meant for working on a car. Thats why there not called Mechanix/riding gloves, and that's also why riding gloves don't advertise "these gloves can be used to work on your car as well".
If I only had enough money for two things it would be a good helmet and some damn good gloves. if I didn't have enough money for those two things I would not ride.
It's human nature that when your falling fast you automatically put your hands out to break your fall....Not much you can do about it.
I use all Joe Rocket stuff, I have seen it work first hand as I have been down twice and its good quality stuff..............
Furthermore a couple of you have some growing up to do.........riding wheelies and tearing it up on the highway does not make you a bad ass rider, no.........maintaining self control and knowing when and where it's safe to open up makes you a bad ass rider. You can laugh all you want at the fact that people tell you riding in big groups is not safe and call him scared when he tells what he has seen. I have seen people die alot this past year, alot of fellow riders and it's not a joke......
Im done...everyone ride safe and wear your gear! ;)

I appreciate the opinions guys, and seroiusly any advice would be great. I'm just wondering how warm those icon gloves will keep my hands once the weather gets into the low 50's.... the wind takes its toll quick.
I know what you mean about the Alpinestars gloves going way up your wrist, but they do kind of flare out, and I'm pretty sure they're made to go over a jacket. The extra protection might come in handy... ya never know.
I ordered a pair of the Icon gloves and I guess I'll just see how warm they are.
If anyone else knows of some good gloves, feel free to chime in.

I have a pair of A* SP-1's, and love them, which are similar to GP Plus, just dont have the kevlar on the knuckles. They hang over my jacket a couple inches which is great for rain and/or cold. I hate short gloves that let rain or cold air up my jacket. In the summer they dont bother me at all. They dont feel bulky at all either. They cinch down like a glove(for the lack of a better term) so I dont notice them. The breakin period on the SP-1's took me probably 600 miles of riding before they felt right. I love the long gloves for summer or winter. If your wanting a warm glove I'd get somthing that covers the wrist better like the GP's over the Icons. Nothing worse than you being nice and tosty while your wrists are freezing causing you not to be able to move your wrists as fast not to mention being uncomfortable.

I have the Alpinestars gloves and I love them. I like them specifically for the fact that the go up over the end of the jacket. There is nothing worse than riding in the cold and having wind blow up the sleeves of your jacket. The gloves were a little uncomfortable at first (as is any new leather product) but once they were broken in...they were perfect. Highly recommend them.
