Martial Arts GTG in Mesquite this Sunday from 12pm to whenever we get tired. Anyone welcome regardless of style or experience. This is a fun GTG to talk, practice, exchange martial arts info and experience with others of same interest.

At the park. I'm teaching two of my somewhat newbies this Sunday and both of them live in south Dallas area. I'm just being a nice guy and meeting them halfway instead of making them drive all the way out here. Hey, if you want bro come on out and take some pictures for me. I've got my digital camera (that I still can't work lol) and I'd like to get some pictures of me gettin my ass kicked by some noobies. :) I invited Omega (again) we'll see if he shows up or not lol.

OK JKD what happened to ya? :confused: I got there around 12:30 and went around the whole arear twice looking for a blue mach 1 or any guys doing martial arts or something and NEVER saw no sign's of training or a blue mach 1???? :( maybe next time? :mad:

You must get lost easy because we were there as usual. We were right next to the Rec Center by the disc golf course. You can try again next week but I doubt you will ever show.

Returned your PM. Let's try again this weekend. I will meet you at the 7/11 at Northwest Hwy and Oates Rd at 11:45am this Sunday. Then you can follow me to the location to insure you don't get lost. This has been an ongoing GTG for quite some time and should be easy to find.
Oh, btw. Five guys? Wow, you must have been really worried. LOL. ;)

BTW, have you thought about video taping these Steve? Maybe getting a couple good mpg's so others can see that it's worth their drive for some great free lessons?

Sort of. I think that video taping is a great training tool to help someone improve their techniques. I would love to be able to get some more of my training footage to critique myself. BUT, as a sole path of learning REAL martial arts and REAL streetfighting cannot be learned from video and/or books.
Let me try to explain a little bit better. The way I teach , I teach to the individual by modifying. What will work for one person may not necessarily work for another because of different body types, strength and mentality. With individual attention to detail a student will grow by leaps and bounds over another student learning in a commerical martial arts school. In a commercial school you will have 30 students in one class with only 1 or 2 instructors all being taught the very same thing with no individual attention. That's fine for kids or just someone who likes a certain arts for aesthetic reasons but not for those looking for real life combat techniques and experience.
In short, I would love to be able to get some video of myself in motion but I don't have a video camera :( I have a great digital camera with about a hundred functions I don't have the patience to figure out lol. Electronics are certainly not my strong suit. :o I thought about asking you awhile back if you would but you've been so swamped in work I totally forgot about it. Maybe someone will show up with one if I get lucky. :)

I will try to link up possibly with yall on Sunday at the tailend of the session if I am able to make it in time. Will probably be asking you a million and one questions. Also to see what styles BJJ, JKD, etc in your opinion, would be good to start with to get a solid understanding of the core fundementals, etc.
Cool to see a large pool of experience to sample from.

I guess you weren't looking hard enough. We were RIGHT BY the rec center from 1pm to about 3pm.
We were there again this past weekend (11/14) from noon to about 1:45pm.
