need some opinions on jacket options [Archive]

im having a terrible time choosing a new leather jacket. price is not a factor in these, what i need is your opinion on what jacket has the most style appeal to you. by the way i will ride a blue r6 and will be buying either a black or blue scheme.

-the first jacket here is the icon burner, maybe alittle to much bling but i do like the silver one.
-the second is the icon motorhead which is the same jacket as the burner but not all the flames and patches, blue is my choice here.
-the third is the alpine stunt, alot of ppl have this jacket so that steers me away.
-the last is the one0one alpine which is new from their line.

Try hitting up as many stores as possible and try them on before deciding on a particular jacket. It would suck to have a sweet ass looking jacket that is uncomfortable to wear. Just a thought.

Jose- ive tried on the motorhead and love the fit, around the waist and chest. never tried on anything from alpine though, but i have heard they fit snug. all my other gear is icon so im leaning towards them.

static- the brand is dainese, and lets just say i dont have sponsorship or money like rossi :D ill spend 500 on a suomy or arai before i spend 700 on a jacket.

Damn i havent seen that new alpine stars jacket...whats the list price on it??

i can't stand any of the Burner shit that ICON is putting out, the motorhead isn't too bad though, and yes i agree everyone and their mom has the alpin stunt jacket...i say go for the one0one

the motorhead also comes in solid black, shaithis. naynay the one0one is from their 05 line so that probably the reason you have not seen it. it retails for around 320-350 but kneedraggers has it for 295. i was thinking about the stinger from fieldsheer, but there is something about their jackets that i dont like. im leaning towards the motorhead

heres a few more im considering

-the first two are also from alpines 05 line, so you may want to check em out naynay.
-the second looks alot like the one0one, i like it alot also.
-and the third is the fieldsheer i was considering, i have yet to try a fieldsheer jacket on so i guess i cant make a educated comment about them. anyone know of a local fieldsheer retailer?

Hey this may be your lucky day. A friend of mine bought the Icon Motorhead Jacket and used it for only a week. He had to buy another one because it was too big. It is the exact color of the one you have posted.

He only wants $250 for it. If you are interested let me know. It is so new I don't even think it is broken in yet.

i tried those on at motorliberty, and they don't fit me right, they are way too short on me in the waist. i sat on the bike they have up there with it on, and it creeped all the way up to the middle of my back. no matter what size they had, they all did it. :( i liked the look and quality of it, but they just aren't ment for me.

I just bought the Icon motorhead red and gray leather jacket, that jacket is made well insulated and works very well for me. Before that I bought the Frank Thomas Jacket but the collar liked to strangel me and didn't fit right

please dont buy JR or Icon, they are both complete shit. If you want a jacket that will save your ass in a crash, get Daineese, Fieldsheer or Alpinestars.

I'm looking at the 2005 models on the Teknic brand and am really impressed. The price is right and no one that actually owns one has complained about them.

dude, alpinestars is good shit, better than icon any day of the week.

fieldsheer SEEMS to be good stuff, but i know for a fact that some of the icon stuff is put together like legos.

please dont try to compare ICON to either of those. ICON and Fieldsheer are about the same price level, but if you are suggesting that ICON can even try to compare to Astars, thats crazy

From those, I would choose AlpineStars from what you have shown; they make good gear. If price isn't an issue, I would look into Dainese, Vanson, or SPIDI. I bought a SPIDI 2pc suit from Hardracing.com for about 650 bucks, which was about 400 bucks off retail. Go to Kneedraggers.com or hardracing.com and see what kind of deals you can find. Also, I think motorace.com had a closeout for all their Dainese products.

I just bought this jacket Blaster 2.0 (http://www.newenough.com/joe_rocket_blaster_2point0_solid_jacket_page.htm) It fits great has dual density body armor etc.
