VANCOUVER (CP) - The waiting times Canadians face for medical treatment were up slightly this year, according to a study released Tuesday by the Fraser Institute.
The Vancouver-based right-wing think tank examined waiting times between referrals from a general practitioner and receiving treatment from a specialist. The average waiting time rose slightly in 2004 to 17.9 weeks from the 17.7 weeks recorded in 2003, according to the institute.
