Kerry is pulling ahead or actually Bush is jsut falling behind, no really much of a difference Kerry is in front even if by only 1%. Not to shabby.

I think it is all over for bush. There is no way he can win if Gallop has all this great polling data

Not to shabby.Would you get your to, too, and two's straight? And work on your due versus do, you pretty consistently get that WON wrong. ;)

And that is great! Too bad it doesn't factor in the electoral college..

It's a good thing for Kerry that California has 55 electoral votes, otherwise he wouldn't stand a chance. Even by http://www.electoral-vote.com/ (an admittedly Kerry-friendly site) Kerry has CA with 51/43%.

Off topic, but does anyone else think it's unfair that California has about 20% of the electoral votes needed to elect a president?

I don't believe any of those since I for one have never voted for a poll on the President (other than a DFWStangs poll ;) ).

I don't wholly support the electoral college in a day of mass media and ease of communication. So, no, I don't think it's really fair. I always figured it would be abolished and/or changed significantly after the first time it didn't agree with popular vote...I was proven wrong. I atleast thought more states would go by pluralist votes instead (also proven wrong).

TDD: I remember several more conservative members of this board putting quite heavy influence on Gallup back when the polls favored Bush. Of course, I am not saying it's the end-all-be-all...I just figured I would post it as it is a quite significant change.

I think they came to the realization that getting taxed to death and still going into debt is a bad thing.

I don't put my faith in polls when ahead or behind. Michael Badnarik is very far behind.

As for the electoral college, I think it is a fair compromise between everything offered. It allows smaller states a bigger say, so that bigger states don't run all over them. If you want to amend the constitution to get rid of it, the smaller states might not allow it to happen.

Wrong! Arnold told them he would pulverize them if they voted for Kerry. :)

I think that one state owning 55 votes - out of 270 needed to elect a president - is skewed.

Especially since they constitute 12.8% of the national population (35.5m out of 291m Americans).
