Hopefully this thread will be a source where we can all share some good deals on gear that we find, local or on the net.

To start off, check this place out: http://www.mawonline.com/WEBSPECI.HTM

Lots of great deals there...

man, how cheap are you looking, because even discounted it's hard to get a decent leather jacket for less than 250ish.

do you want leather, textile or what?

do you want the best protection? leather
waterproof? goretex
breathable? mesh

have fun trying to find the happy medium that fits your needs, and just be grateful that you aren't size Rhino, such as myself.

are you going to ride in the rain? cold?

if you only have one jacket and you're gonna ride all the time, (which is my problem)

i'd try to find a leather jacket with zip up vents and a liner, but that's gonna cost you 250-300 in most cases, sometimes more.

or you could get a goretex like the Joe Rocket Alter Ego, for 200ish. which is a goretex jacket with mesh underpinnings and a liner, so you can remove what you don't need.

you should really have something better than a shirt man.

i've got a mesh jacket that i'll sell pretty cheap as soon as i get another jacket.

its a fieldsheer mach1, with hard armor in the shoulders back and elbows, at least that would give you some protection.

gear can make all the difference in the world man, don't ride without it.

this is true, i have seen some pretty nasty shit when people think they get to good to use their leather, or think they dont need it cuz they are going down the street.

gear can save you alot of bruises, even in a low speed parking lot crash.

i can testify on the fieldsheer mach 1's. Those jackets are tough. Personally seen a friend slide down 635 on his shoulder and back in MY jacket. :(

MACH 1's are great all weather. Fieldsheer makes a replacement zip in liner that is water proof. of course it doesnt make it as nice as a purpose made rain jacket, but it does its job, i can attest to that. Without any liner its great in the heat and with the regular liner in it should be good in the cold.
