Well.. new case came with a bunch of screws..

20 thumbscrews for the HD cage

4 long screws- 1" long Phillips head, no clue

8 short hex head style screws - floppy drive cage screws

8 brass standoffs (motherboard)

8 screws, phillips/straight heads - no clue, assuming standoffs

20 small phillips head screws, with lip, fine threads - no clue

Wondering about the 20 small, and 4 big screws. The optical drives use tool-less mounting (no screws) along with the PCI/AGP cards..

So, 24 extra screws.. Help me see what I'm missing..

Case is a Thermaltake Tsunami (http://www.fastlanehw.com/reviews.php?i=132)

Thanks!

Todd

There should be some small screws that go into the spot where the mother board mounts. Then the MOBo gets fastened onto those.

(does that make sense)

Alot of times, the case manufacturers include lots of extras.

Yeah, those are the 8 brass standoffs with the matching 8 coarse thread screws..

I'm wondering about the 20 fine thread ones, and the 4 long ones..

Well, just do what I do. Put in the mobo, drives, HDd's, connect everything, and power up. If it works, then you have a bunch of leftover parts. :D

alot of those are for various HDD, and cd drives, assuming a few different thread patterns,
also, to fasten PCI cards down, etc.
