View Full Version : Difference between sportbike riders and sportscar drivers
Anyone else noticed this?
I've been involved with sports cars (owning, modifying, racing) for the last 15 years, and met quite a number of people.
But after only a week of owning the bike (hell, it's not even a bike as much as it's a pile of parts) I've already met about 15 other riders just by them riding by my open garage and stopping to chat and hang out. When working on my car outside, I never had anyone stop and introduce themselves.
Besides just the obvious "friendly" factor, they seem to be a much better "class" of people. Some people that I've met from the sportscar side just make you want to scrub your brain with boraxo to rid the memory that such morons exist.
And don't even get me started on the quality of women that ride. Lets just say for now that if she rides (or just rides on the back) 98% of the time she keeps her weight in check.

I don't own a bike nor do I want one. But I do know exactly what you're talking about. My guess is that because there's not even near as many bike riders as there are sports car drivers(ones that actually give a shit about sports cars anyway). And your damn right about the girls. :D

there is a definite camaraderie amongst bikers that most people wouldn't believe.
you still meet the occasional asshole, but that's like all things in life, but it's not a giant pissing match unlike most 'groups'
and yes, i have yet to meet a mouthbreather on a motorcycle, but never a day passes without some yahoo in a sports car proving how little his worth to the world is.

squids is a shortened form of the saying squirrely kids, also known as
So
Quick
Until
I
Die
Posers.
Sportbike riders : Wear a tshirt, shorts and sandles and no helmet. Typically also go 100+ in a 35 zone while wearing the previous lack of gear.
Harley riders: Wear Harley merchanise all over. Boots, leggings, jacket, gloves, shirt and a bandanna. Bikes are ususally equally accessorized with leather tassels on the grips and leather saddle bags.

I noticed this 2. I went out to 7points and there was some guys on a stuntbike....as i pulled in they came over and told me i could park the bike by them. They were pretty cool and could do some badazz stunts on that bike....:) Alot of sportbike riders will give a wave on the hwy u never gety that driving a mustang. Everyone should own a bike IMO its just a totally different world on a bike.

I organized an event at Hooter's in Arlington, expected about 5-10 people to show. Ended up with well over 30, you post it and they will show, plain and simple. There always down for a ride anytime of the day. All shit talking aside we don't care what bike you ride as long as you come to ride!!!!
