and I think this should be a requirement before getting your motorcycle license if for no other reason than to teach you low-speed maneuvering.
I just got back about 45 minutes ago and I highly recommend it. I took the TexasRider course (TexasRider.com) in Irving and really think that everyone could stand to learn something by devoting a weekend to become more familiar on a bike.
I've heard that A+ is cheaper, and I won't bash that course 'cause I'm sure it's good as well, but our classes started at the same time and location, buy our class rode at least 3 hours more than they did (as opposed to being in a classroom). Granted, it was on a POS Honda Nighthawk 250cc, but if you're drop a bike, you might as well do it on someone elses... and get some really useful info at the same time.
I'm trying to find a used CBR (F2 or F3) and feel much more confident in my abilities, even having ridden for a few years now.
For everyone that's taken this course, do you think that everyone should take it, or did you not learn much from it at all?

It was $180, but well worth it. I've heard that the A+ course is a little cheaper ($135-150), but like I said, we were usually riding where as they spent more time in the classroom. Let me know if you need any info on it!

The instructor I had for the Irving TexasRider course was this awesome old guy named Andy Hudson. The A+ instructor was this 30-ish year old lady.

It was my understanding that the curriculum (class room and riding hours) and price are mandated by the date.

I took it and would highly recommend it to everyone. I saw ppl that had ridden for years that were in my class and they dropped their bikes more than once. The slow turns and the quick stops would get them ever time. They thought they knew it all. Goes to show it dosen't matter how long you ride you can always learn and improve your skills.

BTW, I should have added that I agree that the MSF Class should be mandatory for everybody riding a motorcycle. There are certain "habits" you want to instill in new riders before they learn differently and it will help them to become safer and better riders.

02GTGIRL, your right and I had the same thing happen in my class. The low speed manuvering, panic stopping, and the figure eight box gave trouble to the seasoned riders in my class.

I hated that figure eight BOX . Did they have one at each end of the parking lot?? And was one of them smaller than the other one? I wondered why I did better in one and not so good in the other one. Hell one was smaller :D :D
